Hi Ethan,

Really good job on the trick. You might want to consider using the Five of Hearts if you're talking about wounds, meaning two hands, two feet, and the side that was pierced by the lance. You could also talk about the water flowing from His side, and how that symbolizes our Baptism through His blood.

Please take this as constructive criticism. The three would work if you spoke about the three nails. I believe you said "holes", which, in reality, would equal five not three. God bless, and thank you for all that you do for the Lord in your ministry.

All the best,
Dave

Good point Dave. I'll make sure I say "nails" not "holes".

Thanks,
Ethan

Ethan first and foremost God bless. I think you did a great Job. Keep it up I do have an Idea how you can make your first effect more visual. Working at restaurants I've had people come in months after I performed for them asking If I remember them. Cause they remember that visual effect I performed for them.
You also may want to have the 3 or the 5 signed it brings that emotional hook makes it personal to them thus making the gospel personal for them since they signed the card you can guarantee that they will keep the card and everytime they look at it that seed you planted God will make grow. Then they will plant seeds telling others how they signed this card and this guy did this with it look. They will be walking away with something that's always a plus. To make it more visual you can use the Bertram change explained in Oz perlmans Stealing pips avail thru penguin. Or throw in an erdanase change. That's cpvered in a lot of manuscrips and videos. Either will work out well. Again I can't stress how mush you should consider having the card signed. You can have them sign the back of the card then go thru the routine from there.

God Bless once again.

Thanks for the idea harry. I will definetly have the card signed. I also have already been doing it with the erdanase change, but thanks for the idea anyways.

Hi Ethan,

That was outstanding! The patter was very clear and to the point - you really get the message across. I agree with Chicago Harry about a signed card making it more personal for the spectator. Your choice of the jack of spades makes sense, though - you could still use the jack for signing if you use a silver sharpie. Or you could use jokers, and make a point about being foolish when we sin. But, of course, I would only do that among fellow Christians who would not be oversensitive in being referred to as fools when we sin.

Here's an idea for you regarding the joker. I don't know if anyone's done this. Have the person's chosen card (the forced jack of spades) change to a joker, and explain the importance of being a fool for Christ - that being a Christian sometimes seems foolish in a secular world. Then point out to them that their jack of spades has really changed to a carefree king on a bicycle. That he has the joy of the Lord allowing him to be carefree, because he has given all of his burdens to Jesus. Hope you can use it. Again, great job on your second trick.

God bless,

Dave
