Thought about getting a tat twice:

1] Memorial for my Dad, nixed that one 'cause Dad was the ONLY Navy man I'd ever known WITHOUT ink. Very old school, looked on tats as low class. Could not get past the irony of wearing ink to commemorate a man who despised it...

2] When I was accepted into the Magic Castle, I thought about a tat, such as "All Art Is Deception" or sommat like that. But then I realised, "Hey, I don't even like to wear CLOTHING with adverts on it... ."

Like Leapin' Lizards, I change paintings around a bit and don't know that the permanency of ink suits me. Unlike him, I got nothin' pierced...and sure the hell not one of those, thanks! They may not be good for anything, but I can't see dressin' 'em up, neither. Smile

I have a full body tat that makes me look like a heavyset white guy, when in reality I am a small Asian woman.

***Did you have it done professionally or, like most of us back then - desensitive the ear by holding ice cubes either side of the lobe,***

I recall a needle, ice cubes and a piece of potato. Oh and a lotta booze! Smile

5 piercings (2 Nip/3 Ear)
&
9 Tatts:
* Drawing of angry clam (I drew as a kid) in between my shoulder blades
* Tribal sun w/ '61' in center (my music pen-name is agent61) on rt shoulder
* Uncles name (who died tragically) under the tribal sun on rt arm
* Chinese character for Buddha on left shoulder (representing my spiritual side)
* Celtic-type armband on left arm (I adore celtic knotwork)
* Two skulls on each elbow (representing the deaths of more than a few family members over the years; reminding me of those passed on)
* The tibetan saskrit mantra of compassion 'Om Mani Padme Hung' under my rt fore-arm (translates to 'The jewel is in the lotus' - also represents the spiritual)
* A 45 record adapter on my left wrist (two other buddies have this as well - represents friendship between us three)

And more to follow, tatts that is..

***A 45 record adapter on my left wrist***

QUICK, anyone under 30 know what he's referring too? Smile

For the record, I still have a turn table, reel to reel and if I'm not mistaken (or it didn't get tossed) I even have a 8 track player!

Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

Donna and I have been threatening to get inked for years, but have never gotten around to it. I'd have Grumpy and she'd have Happy. Maybe one of these days...

One large portrait of nineteenth century magician closely resembling Alexander Herrmann complete with fan of cards, top hat, mustache, swirling smoke, and devilish imp sitting on his shoulder and whispering in his ear. Done by master tattoo artist Jason Steiva of Sinful Inflictions.

Rat Fink is on inside of left calf. He is playing a Dean Razorback guitar with the explosion graphic. He has a purple goatee and an "H.D." on his shirt.
It's sort of a combined tribute to Dimebag Darrel and Big Daddy Roth.
The HD stands for Harley Davidson.
Also have a Green Man on my back to symbolize my love of nature.

Don't have any yet but have at least 3 planned.

I have an idea for one, but the wife would hate it. I like the idea of getting a tat of a piercing. Not like the ribbing/corset type thing, but a tattoo of a nipple piercing.

I won't forget you Robert.
