Mr. Maue,
I understand that you are performing and lecturing at Magic in the Rockies in September. I plan to attend and look forward to seeing you there. Can you give some info about the lecture you plan to give? Thanks, Gene |

Before Rick answers, as a recent attendee of one of his lectures, let me give you some advice. Don't miss it, and bring money. You'll want to spend it, and it'll be worth it.

Greetings Gene,
Well, I don't know exactly what I will be doing at MITR just yet because we are trying to work out how much time I will have. After all, it is hard to fit my three-hour lecture into the normal one-hour convention lecture spot. But the guys that run the event are some of the best folks in all of magic, so you can bet that I will be doing as much as I can to please everyone there. So, with all of that said, I will probably be doing a piece of mine called Group Dynamic (which is in my MV2006 lecture notes, and it has be talked about several times during my week here). I will probably also be doing a new piece that has been crushing everyone that has seen it, but I don't want to say anything about it here because even describing the basics would ruin it for you. I apologize for being so nebulous, but some folks that saw me on my recent tour asked the same question that you asked, and I answered them in the same way about this piece--and everyone was very happy that I did. They were very pleased that they knew nothing about it before they saw it. So, moving on, I will probably do my piece, Subconscious Poker, where I demonstrate how you can "read a tell" in a game of stud poker. About the only thing that I really know for sure is that the guys from MITR asked me do my piece Heads & Tales, because they have seen it a couple times in Vegas--so I will be doing that as part of my set in the late show on Saturday. At this point, that is about all that I can tell you. Thanks for asking, and I look forward to seeing you there in September. And Magicmike, thanks for the really nice words about my lecture. I should hire you as my publicist. Keep the change, Rick |
