I just purchased some cheap CC knives because I loved (most of) Bill Malone's version so much.

However, I only like it up to the exposure and the vanish.
Can I get some advice for other conclusions/routines?

I did a search and read all the threads. I came up with many references to Whit Haydn's "Intricate Web of Distraction." Is there a video of the performance anywhere?

And what/where is the Skinner routine?

Thanks!

Skinner's routine is very nice, elegant, short, sweet, a bit humorous, and a great way to start down the cck path.

his video for this is cheap if you can find it. I might have one, I don't know.
if you're alergic to videos then the DVD is available.
Inquire within.

Matt Schulein had a great routine; it's in Wilmarth's "The Magic of Matt Schulein".

Also, see Lewis Ganson's routine in "Routined Manipulation", Part II

Don't forget Tarbell, Vol. 7, where there's an absolutely Devilish move from Harry Lorayne and Pete Biro.

Yes. He has a video clip on his website of him performing this at the Magic Castle.

Whit's "Intricate Web of Distraction" IMHO is the most well thought out routine available.

Whit has taken color changing knives away from "Hey look...it's white...BAMM, NOW it's red!!" and turned it into a stand alone presentation that completely removes the spec's desire to "examine" the knives afterwards.

Like he often does ("Chicago Surprise") Whit takes an existing effect to new levels with his ability to craft a wonderful and innovative routine.

I, too, am a big fan of Whit's "Intricate Web of Distraction." It's hands down my favorite CCK routine.

That said, I also like Johnny Thompson's quick routine. You can find it on volume 4 of his "Commercial Classics of Magic" DVD series, as well as the "Color Changing Knives" DVD from the "World's Greatest Magic" DVD series, both from L&L Publishers.

Ascanio's World of Knives, which I think might still be available from Meir Yedid, is a treasure trove...

If this is the same routine included with his "Kolorfusing" knives, then that was the CCK routine I regularly performed many years ago.

If it's not the same routine, then nevermind. Smile

I'm not sure. I saw him perform it a number of years ago at a lecture and if memory serves me correct. It was a good routine.

Thanks for that link! My internet is crapping out on me today, so I've only watched a few of the videos so far. I love his presence. Really fun to watch.

The World's Greatest Magic series now has a volume out on color-changing knives. At the price, well worth a look, though the endings are generally weak, in my opinion. I think that's perhaps endemic to the trick, which is the reason I, too, prefer the Hayden routine. It pushes the real climax to the end where it belongs.

Hmmm, I guess I'll still do some CC knives tonight at my son's Boy Scouts meeting.
I'll probably just follow Malone's routine up to "Oh, I don't even have a black knife." And then just pocket everything.
