[/quote] Well, it seems that my posts were deleted but your insult that I don't perform for pay was allowed to remain. I make my fulltime income from performing magic. Furthermore, I would like to make it known that because I disagreed with you, you took it upon yourself to sen me an abusive PM.

It was a joke. They were playing the Jerky Boys first CD last night ( I'm still laughing today ). I thought for sure you'd get it. Sorry if the joke wasn't seen as funny. I appologize.
I would like to see your reviews ( it takes brass ....)to review because there will always be "people" that don't agree. You put your..ah..neck on the line. I'd just like to see what you think is worth the money.

I think it is quite telling that so many seem to think this set is just about the tricks. And almost sadly funny.
It is so much more. If you don't get that then maybe the magical ARTS are not for you. |

Its a good substitute if you can't make it to his lectures etc. I really like it as a companion to his lecture when he was here in Australia. I didn't take many notes as there was suppsoed to be a lecture DVD from the organisers that fell through. This helped me out with little bits I couldn't remember. |

I agree with pwolverine;
I saw Jeff McBride do a lecture in San Fransisco, and the concepts and things he taught were mostly in the DVDs. They are almost like video lecture notes. I think (based only a limited experience in magic) that these are great for everyone. There are incredible tricks, wonderful ideas.... And in terms of "worth the price of the DVD" I'd say it's watching the live performances ar Burning Man. You really get a feel for his enthusiasm for magic, and his ability to connect with people.

Is the Bead and String Mystery really based on the old trick? Do the beads end up off the string?

If McBride was honest the set would be called "McBride on thumb tip" or "Afterthougts on Thumb tip by Mc Bride". I wont be sarcastic and tell you lot of things about how rainbow streamers can be boring in their hands, but if you don't want spend your money in bad magic don't BUY THIS SET!!!

Too bad that's all you got out of this set as rainbow streamers were such a small part of the entire set. Out of all the routines, only a few involved what you've posted. I imagine that you really don't have this set and are just trying to stir up some controversy.

I think if the only thing you get out of this set it information about the Rainbow Streamers your really overlooking some of the great information that Jeff McBride imparts. Theres much more to his philosophy then an overview to the TT.

You can see Jeff McBride at Magi-Whirl 2009 (www.Magi-Whirl.Org) on April 17, 18, and 19. He will be lecturing, doing close-up, an evening show, and a Special 4-hour Workshop. You will have many opportunities to ask him questions on the "Magic At The Edge" DVD set.

I just ordered the dvds. I was fortunate to take a special seminar with Jeff in Peabody Mass. a few weeks ago. This was one of the best 4 hours I ever spent with any magician. Jeff is a great teacher and his passion for magic just inspired everyone who took the seminar. I look forward to getting these dvds.

This is also my favourite McBride set.The tricks and the discussions are great.The material that I am using at the moment are Bead and String,Okito Man,and Magnetised Cards.
The festival is a lot of fun as well. This set is at a ridiculous price at Hocus Pocus at this moment. |
