I'm looking forward to seeing this, I like the way Rudy thinks.
I'm sure he covers this on the DVD, but one of the things I always urge people to remember when you do this sort of thing is ... however "lite" and fun your approach is , some people are going to regard it as "heavy" and treat what you say as very real and very important. So treat it and them very carefully. One of the great things about the Pig and the Tree is that once you know them, you can really jazz them together. E.G. doing a Sneak Thief type presentation, suggest they draw something "like an animal or something big and recognisable ....". Chances are out of 4-5 people you'll get at least one animal that you can do most of the Pig readings on and probably a tree to do those readings. If you want to get a more clinical view of these sorts of projective tests, search up HTP tests ( House Tree Person ) on google. Timothy |

Well, I was watching this DVD last night and have to echo Tony Iacoviello's thoughts.
I thought it would be a sort of clever way to do this that wouldn't take any work. That would be fine if you could be convincing. It's so much more than that. Rudy Hunter ( who I've always liked ) goes into great depth to make you as expert as possible. Even if you didn't perform this, it's a fascinating subject. I had heard of psychologists using this ( I think I read it in Silence Of The Lambs ) but not as an entertainment vehicle I'm not done watching the entire DVD but am really digging it ( I'm getting back to my 1970's lingo ).

I thought this was pretty good. However I also thought it's the type of thing that would have made much more sense as a book. Or at least it should have had an accompanying book or ebook.

After watching this DVD gotta say it is terrific... just love the teaching method and incredible detail that Rudy provides.
IMHO this is a perfect item for one on one but not so much for a large group as the beloved Mr. Hyde Pig Test. Martini: Please pass along a large "Bravo and Well Done ! " to Rudy from me... excellent video quality and his teaching style are great ! - Nicodemus

I'm somewhat surprised that Rudy didn't lecture and only offer the DVD at his lectures ( and for a price that would make you not apt to sell it ).
It's not a trick or a short, clever way to accomplish a reading. It's so detailed, yet simplified for easy understanding. it's an amazing DVD on a very interesting subject and Rudy has made it practical to learn and use. I'm going to devote allot of time to this as I think it's a very special skill that can set you apart from the performing pack. What a way to stand out in a social engagement.

Sounds interesting, but as allready mentioned by Piers, it reminds me to "Picometry" also.
In "Picometry" you draw a house, a tree, a sun and your sign and you get a interpretation of you relationship to your mother, father and yourself in past and in presence - very interesting. So, my question is, where is the difference between "Picometry" and "Draw me a tree"?

I don't have either Draw Me A Tree or Picometry. I'd think Draw Me A Tree imposes less on the spec; so in a brief social setting, it can make an impression of mind reading but require less time. You simply ask the spec to draw a tree vs more objects. I guess both have applications in different venue.

I do not have Picometry so I cannot speak to it, but I do have a fair idea of what it is. But to be fair, I’ll only speak of DRAW ME A TREE and Timothy Hyde’s PIG TEST. I’ve mentioned both of these fine products elsewhere in this thread.
First, the PIG TEST: The PIG TEST (which does not have to be a pig) is a fantastic piece of entertainment that can be done one on one, but also as a group piece. It is fun, entertaining, and enlightening. It can be played for one, or 100 (or more). It is in manuscript form as part of Timothy Hyde's Secret Notebook. http://www.achieving.com.au/NB1.htm DRAW ME A TREE is a one on one personality reading utilizing the drawing of a tree and the writing of the name. The use of these two different items serves to get a picture of two different aspects of the person. There are a lot of other things that are involved in the process which make it a fun and accurate assessment of where the person is and how she presents herself to others as well as how she is perceived. Rudy Hunter’s DVD is very complete offering a well organized break down of all aspects and a large sample of example readings. It was suggested above by Magicsquared that an accompanying book would be useful, and that is a very good point. Both of these products are excellent, both cover similar territory, but they approach it for different venue and applications. The PIG TEST is designed for light group entertainment (but can be used for one-on-one), DRAW ME A TREE was designed for a more personal and serious one-on-one reading. Whichever way one wishes to go, please look at MrHyde’s post above. He knows what of he speaks! I hope this post helps with some of the questions. Tony Iacoviello |

Greetings Guys;
Thank You for the kind comments, I will certainly pass them onto Rudy for you. If anyone has not already bought this DVD, I am offerring a special offer in the DVD for sale section. Most of you know Professor Piper, and many have heard of his situation in the past few days. In short he will be homeless in a matter of days through no fault of his own. Since I feel very strongly about helping fellow magicians, especially some in dire need such as terry is going through right now. I posted that anyone who buys the Draw Me A Tree DVD from me for $25 postpaid, your entire $25 will be going to Terry (Professor Piper) to help out with his situation. It is a win-win opportunity for you to get a DVD and help out a brother magician in his time of need. Steven Steele was kind enough to stick the post, (put it at the top of the DVD for sale section) so it is the first post you will see there. Please check out the posting in that section if you are interested in helping Terry and getting the DVD. All the Best Marty |

Meanwhile I took a closer look to this dvd and I like it very much.
It´s different to pictomtery and also to pigtometry and from my point of view it´s "better". The video is well made, good quality and very good explanations to the method. It´s a real lecture dvd well explained. Very good - thanks a lott for this dvd.

Greetings CinChiller;
I'm happy to hear that you liked the DVD. I will pass your comments onto Rudy when I talk to him later this week. Remember guys, if you buy the DVD from me, it is $25 postpaid anywhere and the $25 goes to help Professor Piper. The offer is still there so you can get a great DVD and help out a fellow magician who is in severe need right now. A big Thank You to everyone who has helped so far. Terry (Professor Piper) really appreciates how much you have pulled together to help him in his time of need. All the Best Marty |

Greetings Bill;
The dvd is not posted on my site as it is a special offer to help Professor Piper. It is offered here as he is a Café member who is in need of help. The reference to Steven Steele has stuck the post (meaning it is at the very top of the section "dvds for sale") If you click on dvds for sale, the very top post has the information. Hope that has helped All the Best Marty |

I'm having trouble finding the post that Marty references. Can anyone help me? I can't find what Marty refers to as the section on the Café entitled "DVDs for Sale."
Many thanks. Bill |

Bought the DVD and like it very much. While it does remind me of Picometry, it comes across as a more simple, but still very effective system.
The DVD is a joy to watch, very direct and full of information. My only additional 'want' would have been the addition of a printed or PDF'ed crib sheet, but that aside it is a great price for an excellent and self contained system. A system that could stand alone or be included as an extension of another 'effect'. I love the DVD, I use 6 marked card stock and hand them out to the audience then do the picture readings then hand them back to the person I think (know) whose drawing it is.
A simple combination of two idea's. |
