Very cool , Wanlu ! The yellow color jumps right off the stage. Very attention grabbing. I recently acquired Vernet's Pancho the Pickin' Duck. Your yellow duck is like the Vernet duck on steroids ! Imagine your duck doing Pancho's routine with jumbo cards. I think it would rock the house.

Just wanted to inform you that as Mark Wade was passing where I was sitting, he caught a glimpse of Ritz The Duck that you made for me and he stopped and talked with me for quite awhile. He loves the personality of your duck over the one that he performs with. He asked me how much I paid for the duck and I told him which his reply was that he paid 3 times that amount for the one he has. I told him that you made it. Later that evening, Mark brought his wife, Jody, over to see the duck and she totally adores it also...

An FYI:
I've been using Wanlu's yellow duck for sometime, and will soon own the rights to it as I have first right of refusal. While I don't mean to be "mean" about this by any means, I just want to give you a "heads up" that I've already decided to take Wanlu up on his offer and this will be my exclusive design, as per Wanlu's words. While this does sound "protective" as interest in his designs go up, those of us who first started using them have to "get serious" about the rights to protect our livlihoods and families (and all the hard work we've done!). I feel very proud to be able to own the rights to Wanlu's yellow duck! Wanlu is a great artist, and it's like owning a piece of art!
Keep in mind, Wanlu has many other great designs, and I"m sure he can come up with something just for you!!! He's got to be one of the most creative puppet designers in the last twenty years! I love the white duck to, and am glad to see Mark and his wife love him so much!

I've been using Wanlu's yellow duck for about a year now. You may wonder why I"m so excited about purchasing the rights (thanks, Wanlu!!!). I've always wanted my own character, so this is something very special for me as a vent and puppeteer. Since I was a little kid I've wanted my very own character, and I've always loved ducks for whatever reason. From Donal, to Huey, Dewey and Louie, to Daffy..

I agree with you Chris...smart move on buying the rights. That is one great looking duck...

Yes...Chris has bought the limited rights to the yellow duck design...thanks Chris.
No yellow ducks will be sold in the USA. It's just like buying a custom exclusive puppet, no copies will be sold in the USA.

This does not include the yellow ducks sold in the USA prior to the agreement...maybe just 2-3 of them.

This is a very professional move on the part of Chris. I know times are hard...but doing this shows the world how dedicated Chris is to his craft.

Wanlu

The white comical duck...which was with Wilma Swartz in VentHaven is still available for sale. His size is similar but the face is different specifically the eyes. The cloth we use for the white duck is also different from the McBrien Duck.

ARGH !!! It rained all day here. Had to cancel the outdoor photo shoot. However, I did snap a quick pic using my cell phone. Here is Cracker the Bear, sitting next to Rosie the Roseatte Spoonbill, and Albert E Gatore, all Wanlu creations....
