Has anyone seen the DVDs Sal piacente made about three shell game and three card monte?
Is it a good idea to get them, or they don't worth the price? Thanks, Alex. |

Get the School for Scoundrels DVD's.
Sal's DVD's can't hold a candle to the SFS material. |

I think it depends on how much you already know about 3CM. ( I don't have the Shell Game DVD ). If you're new at it, Sal's DVD will give you the basics. If you're already are very familiar with it and perform it, you may not see anything new.

So....what exactly does that mean Nic?
You can buy Sal's DVD and you MIGHT get something of value....or you can buy the SFS DVD and get the VERY BEST work on the Shells put out to date. The SFS package not only has video with Whit, Anton, and Bob Sheets performing and teaching, but also contains lots of exclusive .pdf files representing some of the best written work on the Shells you can currently lay your hands on. I'm confused as to why anybody would buy Sal's DVD over the SFS DVD considering that Sal's DVD (in your own words) gives you only the basics? Am I missing something here Nic, or did you just temporarily get ADD and as a result felt the need to post something....ANYTHING.....even if it doesn't make sense? |

Whew! Calm down a little. The original question was about Sal Piacente's DVD, it wasn't : Should I purchase Sal's DVD or SFS DVD? If that were the question, my comments may have been slightly different. Either way, I purchased both and enjoyed them both.

I was kidding Nic.....I may need to work on crafting posts that are actually perceived as being funny
...Although I do think Sal's DVD is poorly done when held up against the SFS DVD.....that part was for real. |

Ok guys,
Thanks for your replys... I actually already know a lot about TCM or 3 shell game. I was just wondering if Sal's dvd was something good enough to get it. I liked his cheating move dvd and I'm curious of what he does on these two games/swindles. I guess the SFS material is the best we can get about this subject, but I always thought that the more you see, the best you become. Thanks again. Alex |

I know Sal. He lives near me. I've hung out with him maybe 4 or 5 times. He's the real deal.
His DVDs may not be as thorough as the SFS DVDs, but they offer you a glimpse at someone who knows what he's talking about. Now, I LOVE the SFS stuff. I own tons of it. Whit is on my "top 3 people I gotta meet before I die list" (used to have a top 4 list...then I met Charlie Frye!)...so please don't get me wrong. I'm not bashing Whit, Chef, or anyone with this post. I respect those guys to no end. All I know is Sal is DA MAN. To watch him is to watch a worker...that's getting a lot outta a video beyond just moves. I own both DVDs mentioned on this thread and love them both. |
