OK my brothers! I'm all excited that I finally have an avatar! That's me with my Hot Leads flaming business cards/Gospel tracts.
That blazer (no pun intended, I'm talking about my jacket) cost me $2.49 at the Goodwill store! Now I have lots of sneaky pockets and look more professional. The Lord really has provided. I'm sure I'll have better pics in the future, but I'm real happy to be "in person" here at the Café now. Be blessed!

Reminds me of the verse (and song by Louis Armstrong)
Shadrack, Mischach, and Abendigo Thrift shops are a great place for props and jackets. Got a perfect fitting Evan Picon jacket 4 years ago for under 5 bucks... These days my mother in law (Ruth) has been making me vest. Didn't know how many till I put them all in the same closet.

Thanks magicoftomh! I was in a dark hallway so the only light was from the card and the camera. Made for a good pic.
Thanks Kurt about the face...I think! Isn't it funny how no one ever looks how you imagine them? I like Hot Leads. It definitely startles people as they aren't expecting it. That is a pretty good size flame coming off the card! You just need to get cards printed using standard card stock with flat ink. Mine say my name, Christian Illusionist, phone # and a 5 or 6 line Gospel message. I got 250 for $20.00, single sided printing. I'd like to do front and back in the future, but it's a flat rate of $20.00 more. I went to Office Max where they have a computer that you use to design your card and they come in in about 1 week or so. If you do get the trick, let me know and I'll share some good advice that the guys down at Williams Magic here in Tucson gave me. Something fun to do is show the card, put it out and press it between your hands saying that it's still hot, then offer your hand to the person palm down with the "card" in it. Actually you just kept it palmed in your other hand. It's just a quickie move that when combined with the fire adds to the overall confusion on the part of the spectator and makes it even more fun to do. My mother-in-law loved it! She loves it when my son and I bring over our new tricks. Fun stuff this magic! Be blessed!

Where can hot leads be purchased? I think it would be great to draw a crowd.

The talented magician Jim Pace makes and sells this item. You can find it many places, including his ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Jim-Pace-Magic-do......Z2QQtZkm

Hot leads is one trick I use very often - probably 2nd only to my sponge balls. I love it as it is very visual and I notice that most people keep my cards away with extra care
Many Blessings!!

Not having Hot Leads yet.... can someone who owns it tell me this answer?
Can you perform this with a business card sized gospel tract with writing on both sides of the card? Does it 'instantly' reset? |

Thanks Thom! It's hot and cool!
Ethan-yes, it has unlimited uses, you just need a few "supplies." Look around before you buy it because some online shops have to charge a hazmat fee to ship it-pricey! Again, if you get it let me know and I'll give you some tips. Joe-concerning Gospel tracts: Yes, if you use standard card stock with flat ink, you can do double sided printing. It's best to just get some printed up with the scriptures you want. I combed the internet for useable tracts and finally just got them printed. I tried using a tract from my church and it worked, but it wasn't optimal. I forgot to mention, you want to use NON-GLOSSY. Yes, it instantly resets, but you wouldn't want to do several right in a row. If you buy it you will understand why. It's best to hand one out burning and wait a while to do the flame on someone else. Let me put it this way: when it is done for you the first time you don't know how it works, the next time you see it done, you can easily figure out how it's done. The initial surprise of the unexpected fire really helps cover the gimmick part of the trick. And you don't want to make too big a production of,"Here, let me get you a business card!" If done naturally it really shocks and even scares people. I freaked out a guy at Ace Hardware with one today. The cashier!

YAY!!!! I got quoted! (sorry for the enthusiasm) lol I think that's the first time too... Yep, the cards they make at office max are good looking and affordable which is why I picked them rather than the "punch out" print-it-yourself template kind.

Preston... Sorry about the prolonged response to your question. The "We don't trust us" quote is from a song by deceased musician named Mark Heard. I always loved his music and lyrics. He died over 10 years ago at the age of 42 I think. He was quite a poet and musician, terrible loss IMO.
