I am looking for a good source of cigarette aparatus. Seems that since smoking is no longer fashionable, it is hard to find things like tanks and pulls. Any one have any suggestions or items they might like to sell?
I am particulalry interested in an item I came across in Tarbell. It doesn't say what it's called though so I don't know exactly what I am looking for. It is a metal tube with holes in it and and a finger clip on the end. It is is used to vanish a lit cig and make it reappear in the pack. Any one know what this is called?

Hi Drew:
I have a bunch of cigarette gimmicks in my manipulation equipment collection and I think you might eventually find what you need if you keep looking at eBay or at magic auctions. That said, I must remind you that many of these cigarette gimmicks which were sold in the old magic shops are essentially handmade. At the present time I am on tour and I don't have access to a copy of the Tarbell Course. So I don't exactly know the gimmick to which you are referring. But I would bet that you could make the gimmick yourself without too much trouble with the aid of simple tools such as a pair of "Aviation Snips",a pop rivet gun, a Dremel tool, vise-grip pliers, a file, a soldering gun, matte black paint and some sheet metal. Remember most secret gimmicks do not have to look pretty, they just have to be functional!! Levent

Hi Drew:
I was just visiting a friend yesterday, who has a pretty big collection of old magic gimmicks. I happened to notice that he had exactly the same cigarette gimmick that you had described. He also had the Tarbell course and I looked it up and it is called "Grant's Cigarette Classic". I took a few close-up photographs of this very old Grant gimmick. If you give me your email address, I'll send you the pictures, so you can make a duplicate. Levent
