I hope this is the right forum....does anyone know of any tricks involving a snake? I have a pet snake and I thought it would be cool if I could do a magic trick with him...

What kind of snake do you have? What kind of magic are you wanting to do? Something in a show, informal for family/friends, etc. Let me know and I will pm you some ideas. I use several snakes in my shows.

Do a search on member snakebabe or send her a PM. She'd be our expert snake handler among other things.

I've thought about this before...U could use a duck pan, use a velcro sealed dove bag and steal it 'dove style', use it in a doves to bunny...perhaps even pull it out from a top hat!!

Hi all,
I too just got a young ball python for use in my shows. Chad, I would be very interested in some usages other than what I have in mind, just to change effects from time to time. Dr. Solar

I saw Lance Gifford do the indian sword basket. Before making the person appear back out of it, he pulled 2 snakes out of it. Sweet. Pythons I believe.

If you’re new to snakes in shows my suggestion is not on the trick as much as the care.
If you have only ONE snake you will benefit from a trick that is not essential to your act. For example, do NOT use the snake in a grand finale. One snake is typically out of commission 8-10 days a month to digest its food. (Never handle a snake for at least 4 days after feeding) and then out for “Sloughing” (shedding) every 5-6 weeks for about 7-10 days. So…if you rely on this snake for an essential trick such as a finale you may be left without an ending on a day you have your show booked. I hope that helps. Hugs and Hissessss, Maria |

Oops, I just re-read and noticed you have a Corn snake. If it’s a young corn snake its feeding schedule would be more often so plan on it being out of use for 3-4 feedings a month
