I actually really liked the most recent episode. I thought that guy was soooo brave. Wow. He did terrible at the first speed dating event. But he was terrific at the second one; so confident and relaxed. But at the end with the purse snatching, wow! That was extremely brave. I’m so happy for him. He seemed like such a great guy.

Would you of dated him holly?
I see it as this, hendrix - genius artist...produces superb albums constantly, also does a few not so great ones.... the thing is, in comparision to other guitarists, his not so great ones are still much much better than a lot of others artists... the escapee artist thing was below his normal level, purely cos the climax wasnt long enough (why have I heard that before? hmmm) anyway, I've overall really enjoyed ToT 1 and 2, found it interesting to see what he can do with the one mind...alot of the shows have a theraputic edge to them too...may fave is still the piano player one...giving her back the love of music and playing again...superb... everyone I talk to is always very very excited by his shows..i even get texts from people saying "the usual derren brilliances"...it maybe that some of you have very mardy and pitted lip friends *joke* lets not be too hard on someone who has dragged mentalism and magic's profile on tv in the UK into the 21st century shall we...

I definately detect a down turn in his popularity on here. Which has to be a good reflection in general. Since we are more forgiving than lay people who probably watch only one or two shows.
I think he has done remarkably well to last as long as he has. I didn't think he would last this long. If hes to survive he will have to mutate beyond all recognition. |

Why is it disgusting? Im only reporting my experience. And the enevitable.
You really think he would want to hear from me? Do you have his number? What do you think? Will I be a trick or treat? |

What am I wasting? This forum cracks me up sometimes. Feels like ive commited blasphemy for pointing something obvious out.
Im sure Derren and his team are well aware of his shelf life and are milking the opportunity to the max. good luck to them. But like everything in life what goes up must be put down eventually. Its a natural law. Disgusting maybe to some but enevitable. |

I didn't care for his "escape" episode, but the last one where he made someone a hit in speed dating was nice and warm.

The 6th episode was excellent. The dart effect and the lottery number routine were both outstanding.
And the final bit over the end credits a demented kicker! |

This last one was interesting in as much as this is a game that personal development trainers have used for years. But what the producers did was take something simple and let it run into an actual 30 min show. I have to applaud that.
What it really revealed was exactly what DB said: 'How 'their' universe is operating independently of any action they take'. Yet they/we find meaning (false) to it. That's it. We're simply meaning seeking creatures and if we can't find meaning we construct it. bobser

It was indeed a lovely episode and a real return to form.
A spectacular darts-based bit of really visual magic and a mind-boggling "chair routine" without chairs I think there was actually enough material here for a 50 minute programme. Although I'm surprised nobody has yet chipped in to claim the writing on the wall was added in post-production using CGI |

One thing I do question about the show.
Anyone who has seen a few Derren Brown shows knows that not everything he tells you is true and not everything is what it seems. So at some point I was expecting the people in the room to just stand still and watch to see if the counter went up without doing anything. I do think Derren pre interviews the people he uses to check their gullibility. As far as the sign near the ceiling stating the door is open, For years I owned a retail store and quickly realized most people do not look up or down naturally. They look staight ahead. That is why companies pay big money to stores and supermarkets for better shelf position at eye level. |
