Terry LaGerould is releasing his take on the Sach die routine. I like his routine because the dice can be examined before and after the routine and the dice are big, 1 inch square. Check it out at his website http://www.terrylagerould.com

The blurb says:
This dice routine was a feature in Terry's act while he was at Cesar's Tahoe. It is his take on the Sach's Dice routine using one inch dice. These are large dice, larger than casino dice. It contains the most unique climax ever for the Sach's routine ever. (THAT IS EASY TO WRITE - BUT CAN SOMEBODY TELL WHAT THE CLIMAX IS?) Included are seven unique die changes called Die-Ametricks that can be used with the routine or separately. QUESTIONS: How is this compared to Bob SHeets "It's the rules", "The Ivory Connection", Daryl Dr. Sachs Dice routine? What seperates Terry's routine. We need more information to decide which one to buy And how come dice rotuines suddenly are getting a renaisance? Suddenly there are 5 DVD's out at the same time? |

I have pre-ordered this item and will review it when it arrives.
Terry's routine is a legend regarding the Sach's die routine. I would say Terry's routine is a killer because he performed it over many years and hundreds of performances. This dice routine was a feature in Terry's act while he was at Cesar's Tahoe. It is his take on the Sach routine using the one inch dice. These are large dice, larger than casino dice which would be easier to view for a show. You can see a demo clip and order the item on his site here: http://www.terrylagerould.com/products.html It is located about half way down the page!! Looking forward to this release!! |

Terry uses a larger 1 inch die and you can purchase it here:

Oops, I made a mistake. The spelling is Sack, not Sach. Confused with another magician with the latter name.
I cannot comment on the Sheet's routine because I have not seen it yet, but in Ivory Connection you cannot pass out the dice. |

I would call the Gambler's General Store directly and ask for Ludmilla. She is VERY friendly and is familiar with the black/white 1 inch dice. She can take your order over the phone. That is exactly what I did. Here are the numbers: Outside Nevada: (800) 322-2447 In Nevada: (702) 382-9903 I have been working a lot lately so the Die-Lirious DVD is next on my list to review. Expect a review to be coming soon. You can see a demo clip of Die-Lirious and order it on Terry's site here: http://www.terrylagerould.com/products.html Thanks! Frank Velasco |

Here is my review for Die-Lirious: This is a very well produced DVD by Terry LeGerould. Let me break down each part of the DVD: Performances 1. The Die-Lirious routine: What a stunning routine!! I can see why this dice routine was a feature in Terry's act while he was at Cesar's Tahoe. Terry performs some stunning dice magic including trying to show us how the opposite sides of the dice don't always equal seven! 2. Die-Amertricks- More stunning dice changes using mathematics!! Really cool idea!! Method 3. Dice Production Explanation - Terry explains the dice production that he uses in Die-Lirious. This is the only part of the DVD I did not care much for. I will use another method to produce the dice but others might find this method worthy of study. 4. The Roll - Terry explains the basic "roll" to accomplish the miracles on this DVD. The first time I watched, I had a hard time following but I gave it a go the next day and everything seemed to come together. Terry did a great job detailing the roll though I wish the camera showed more than one angle. 5. Die-Lirious explanation - Terry did an excellent job going in detail how to use the roll and apply it to the routine. I recommend watching the Roll explanation a few times and practice the Roll until you are proficient at it. Terry takes you step by step to show you every move to accomplish the routine. 6. Die-Ametricks Explanation - Terry also did another excellent job in explaining this routine. Again, I recommend watching the Roll explanation a few times and practice the Roll until you are proficient at it only then go back and re-watch the explanations. Summary - Overall, I give this DVD a 9 out of 10 stars. I prefer the Die-Lirious routine over the Die-Ametricks routine. Terry also uses the one inch dice. These are large dice and are actually larger than casino dice which is easier to view for an audience. The quality of the DVD at times was dark and needed to have more light in the background but other than that this routine is SOLID. This is an opportunity to learn one of the best Sack's dice routine in existence and that is why this dice routine was a feature in Terry's act while he was at Cesar's Tahoe. Compared to other Sack's routine, I prefer this routine because of the use of 1 inch dice (and the roll to accomplish this using the 1 inch dice) and Terry's presentation and flow of the routine. You can see a demo clip of Die-Lirious and order it on Terry's site here: http://www.terrylagerould.com/products.html Thanks! Frank Velasco |

I have to differ. I bought Die-lirious as well as Daryls Sachs dice handling (Worlds best series), Bob Sheets "It's the rules" and I also purchased "The Ivory connection", I even have Steve Draun's "On Dice".
I have to say that I strongly advice to buy any one of the other DVD's. Actually "The Ivory Connection" has in my view the best routining together with "It's the rules", Daryl introduces a great version of Chink-a-chink and does a fairly well routines Sachs dice routine. Die-Lirious has a very confusing routining and non magic feel to it - I feel a lack of magic in the routine. But it of course has the basic moves and the Sachs features, and Die-ametrics is a nice extra thing you can throw in. "The Ivory Connection" is a clear and to the point routine, Bob Sheets has a great ending, and you don't have to close the Ivory routine by making the dice melt together, you can easily vanish them without the melting part. I Would open with producing the Dice, following with Daryls Chink-a-Chink,vanish 2 dice and continue into a combination of the Ivory Connection combined with Bob Sheets ending display - and then a vanish of the two last dice. That will be my dice routine. IMHO You need to incorporate the magic in a dice routine, otherwise you risk endning up with a mere display of dice-roling and a confused audience. Just my opinion. |

I'm a personal friend of Terry and have performed several banquet gigs with him and have seen first hand the reaction he gets with this routine. I also have found a good source for 1 inch (25mm) dice. http://stores.ebay.com/WinningEdge5 I got a package of 6 for $7.79 which included shipping. The dice are very nice and high quality.

Whether you magically produce the dice or simply introduce them with a patter segue the effect(s) cannot be beaten for something that can easily be carried in the pocket and performed at a moment's notice. Not a lot to memorize and the reaction potential can be great (that part is up to you). Terry is also a personal friend of mine and I always love watching his "stuff".
The above was an unsolicited testamonial (well almost unsolicited). He did ask me to drop a line here if I liked the effect. Well I do - and there it is! |
