I plan on havig my JP's copper plated. Mine is originally brass. I love it but...I find it difficult to keep it look tidy. I do love patinas and I am a big fan of it. With my JP brass set...its just impossible to even it out.

My question is....

Would copper plated cups develop patina as well?
Would the proccess of plating affect the chop cup?

Thanks for your inputs in advance!

You should ask the plating company. If heat is used it could kill the chop.

It all depends on the company. But you should make them aware of the magnet. We can chrome, copper, silver cups with magnets at the plater I use, but it requires additional steps. Neos will withstand heat up to 600 degrees.

I copper plated a JP chop cup to match my Copper set I bought from Kenna and it came through with flying colors.

Copper for plating will develop the same patina as any other copper.
