Instead of "Head Trip," I'm going to use "Ping Pong Prestidigitation" to include as a 'sucker spectator' in my kids routine (in which I'll use a parent as the sucker). It's a trick where everyone but the sucker knows how the trick is done.

However, although it's very simple, I foresee potential problems. I could see the spectator reaching into the paper bag, and accidentally reaching out through the hole, for example. And angles obviously have to be watched.

Can any one that performs this, give me some warnings on things that can potentially occur that gives the trick away to the sucker spectator?

This trick is shown in Mark Wilson's "Cyclopedia of Magic", if you'd like a reference to it.

I do this one too, and it always goes over well.

Put a piece of clear, flimsy plastic over the hole to keep them from reaching through it. You can get some from an art supply store.

As long as you watch your angles (plan and rehearse your handling of the bag ahead of time) and let the audience in on the secret early on, you should be fine. Try to pick a bright volunteer for the non-sucker person.

Your only danger is if someone from the audience blurts out the secret. To keep this from being a problem, I don't flash the window to the audience until after the magical revelation of the first ball match. By then, it doesn't matter if they do or not -- you can end the trick there if you have to.

Sounds like a routine Pavel included in his
lecture last night.

I am also thinking of adding it to my
nearly normal program on choices.
