I have the Joe Leffler’s “Pro Suitcase Tables” - the larger one. It is hands down the best case you can imagine. The storage at the bottom is great for audio gear. The shelves are great for all of the 'packs flat' plays big props....mine has the coloring book, stage sized calculator, dream bag, etc.

When the table is open, I have a custom made skirt that wraps around the entire table with some elastic. I can complete surround the table with the fabric (during setup and tear down) or I can keep it open to take out and ditch props.

The top is great for close up effects, and its on wheels, making it very easy to move while performing or during transport.

Like the post at the top of the page says within the link...if you have nothing, get one!

Ditto....it's grest and lightweight! Built for durability. I love mine....

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

I just bought an aluminum toolcase (briefcase style) from Home Depot for 24.95. Works perfectly for birthday shows, etc. As a base, I was looking for a "waiter's stand" (the folding platform that waiters put their big trays on), but I couldn't find one...so I went to Big Lots and bought a small utility table that folds flat for $20.

I just put a black twin-size sheet ($5 at WalMart) over top of the table and set the aluminum case on top. looks great and very functional.

A restaurant supply store will have the stand your looking for.

Wood ones are nice but I got an aluminium one and painted it black.

While you at the restaurant supply store you can pick up some cheap
forks for bending.

Yes, neznarf. The restaurant supply store in my area closed about a year ago. There is one where I am going today, so I may look and see what the price range is. Short of that, I had thought about asking a couple restaurants if they were planning to replace any...and I would gladly take the ones they were getting rid of.

Ain't too proud to beg!

Ebay has a good amount of old doctor cases, if that fits with your style.

If you desire something that has an antique/supernatural look, then check out the wooden product offerings from the following Oregon based retailer.

I utilize one of their small chests in the 'Artifact Act' portion of my mentalism show. I keep my Haunted Key, Telekinetic Timber, Bicycle 1800 Deck and Koran type Medallion in this chest, as well as my various gem/crystal shards and hand-carved Voodoo figurine.

I found this AWESOME case at Home Depot. It looks like a "magic bag", very classy. Loads of room inside with elastics and pockets for props. Put some appliques or something over the trademarks if you like.

Anyone have any source for a good pop-up case? I can carry heavy things, but prefer having everything all in one place. I've heard that a lot of pop-up cases basically don't leave much room for items, it's all for storing the legs.

I found one here, but not a lot of detail about it, was wondering if people had any other ideas, other than making my own (which I'm looking into as well).

I have one of these bags which I use for tools.
It's very nice but do you really want to expose all your stuff? Everything is right out in the open. Unless you use it only at home to keep your magic organized.

It is nice, isn't it! And you don't have to keep it gaping open as in the photo. I turn the ends in toward each other and it gives enough cover that I can quickly find what I need, while blocking curious eyes. Perhaps if your case is only for close-up I would look for something else, but for my living room shows this case is the bomb!
