I have always loved a good Cannibal Cards routine and am looking to update the routine I learned years ago. Who, in your opinion has the better handlings out there that I can look up? Also, what are your opinions on the climax. The one I know ends with the missionaries face up in the center of the deck and you end clean with four cards in your hands.

Danny,
I didn't know Tamarez had a routine for cannibal cards. Is it published? If so, in English? If so, what book? Thank you |

I like Ed Marlo's version as well as Sankey's.

Darwin Ortiz has an excellent version in his Scams and Fantasies book. There is a version in Card College 3, I haven't read it yet so I can't comment on it. Anyone knows where can I find the original? Thanks! ~ Feras |

Bill Goodwin has a killer Cannibal Card routine in one of his lecture notes. You see 7 cards - 4 FU Cannibals and 3 FD missionaries. Then there are only 2 FD, then 1 FD then none FD. All four remaining cards are kings. There's no ditching. The handling allows the 4 K's to seem to be all 7, then 6 then 5 then 4. You don't go back to the deck to unload anything. It's beauty.

Darwin's routine is very good too. I'm honored that he used (with credit of course)the vanish sequence from my Cannibals routine from Top Secret Stuff called "A Case of Indigestion."

Bill Goodwin's is very nice. It is hard to find the notes and the notes are kind of hard to follow--3 pages of solid text, no phots.
Also, good luck actually being about to perform it like Bill... |

The guy is called Juan Tamariz, so if you try to search the DVD (yes, the performance is really great) use his correct name to find it.

Eugene Burger but I have not seen any of the others that I recall. Unless I am thinking of another trick.

Bill Malone teachers a cannibal cards routine in his DVD set 'here I go again'.
I found it very entertaining to watch but its not something I would personally perform in a working environment. Hope this helps. Thanks, magico563 ![]() |

Always loved the idea of having the cards actually eat small objects. Loved the idea of them puking up a little skeleton. : )

Another vote for the routine from Ortiz. I especially like the 2nd phase with the card going into the middle of the cannibals, then without any moves the packet is spread to show the selection gone. And I feel the 2nd and 3rd phase just nicely cancels out any thoughts of a method for the spectator. Great sequence.

No one has mentioned one that I use and it is JJ Sanvert's cannibal card routine. It is such an entertaining routine to perform and the climax catches everyone by suprise. Without a doubt this is one of those routines which people will remember because of its entertainment value as well as the magic involved in it.
Thanks JJ!! |
