I have 2 questions:
1. It can be every distance - 2cm or 20 cm or 827cm? 2. Does the performer always has to hold the measuring tape?

Joshua Jay's Heightened Senses routine has a similar plot. Is this a different method?

Hello all:
Thanks for the great comments and thoughts everyone! I just wanted to address Geoff Weber's question regarding Joshua Jay's Heightened Senses. I actually spoke to Joshua regarding this, because although "The Space Between" is a very different routine and uses a totally different method, I wanted to get his thoughts. He gave his blessing on my new trick, and I actually briefly talk his great trick during the introduction portion of the instructional DVD for "The Space Between". Anyhow, these should be ready to ship by the end of this week or Monday, June 23rd at the latest---stay tuned! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for your time. Hello all:
Oh my goodness, I am embarrassed! I can't believe that I missed the questions from Cinchiller! I have been slightly distracted lately, and I hope that you accept my apology. Let me answer your 2 questions as best as I can without revealing the method: 1. You will obviously be able to predict the measurement within only a certain distance. However the spectator will never know the difference. Also, you can repeat it with a different measurement. 2. The measuring tape is only introduced at the end of the various routines that are included, because it is at that point that you are taking the actual measurement. The performer holds the measuring tape until the end of course (as you're the one who has it!), but you can hand it to the spectator for examination after the routine if you wish. Please let me know if you have any other questions, and again sorry again for the delay. Best regards, Jason Palter Paltergeist Unlimited (416) 410-5766 jason@paltergeist.com |

1- How long does the "special something" last?
2- Does the magician have to open the enveloppe or even touch it after the measurements have been made or can the spectator open it himself? 3- Is the assitant just as impressed as the rest of the crowd? |

Hello all:
Okay, I'm not going to miss THESE questions this time! lol 1. The something special should last you a very long time---for what I think would be hundreds of performances. I have probably done it a hundred times in the past few months, and it is in perfect shape.......Also not every person will treat their "something special" as well as the next, so it's difficult to say exactly. Sorry that sounds vague, but I can't really explain much more without obviously exposing it. If this is not enough of an answer please contact me. 2. Once the magician hands the envelope out, he/she NEVER has to touch it again. The assistant or the audience member holding the envelope is the one who can open it. In fact, you don't even have to do the trick with a prediction; you can just announce what the distance is before the measuring tape is used to verify it. However I think that it makes it much more powerful to use a prediction. 3. This is a difficult question to answer because as you know in magic (which is "art"), different audiences/people can react VERY differently to the exact same piece of art----in this case, a magic trick. In my experience, the assistant is usually the most impressed because he or she could have changed their mind, etc. Plus they are the one that reads the measurement off of the tape, so usually they are jumping with anticipation to see what the prediction in the envelope says. In one of the included scripts/routines, you actually perform the trick on a married couple (measuring the space between their noses), and in that case they are generally VERY blown away by it! Again, every audience is different but as I say usually the assistant is just as impressed as the rest of the crowd if not more impressed. I hope that answers your questions. Please let me know if there are any other questions. Thank you for your time. Best regards, Jason Palter Paltergeist Unlimited (416) 410-5766 jason@paltergeist.com |

Thanks Jason you've done a perfect job of answering my questions. #3 was basically subtly asking if the assistant was "in on it" or if it used dual reality somehow. This just sounds so impossible. Good job on creating this one.

1.You said that not every distance could predict, how about close-up?
like distance of coins on table? 2.if I take 2 people on stage,do I have to "force" them the distance and adjust them ? 3. it is the really the exactly distance? I mean,if the crowed look the distance between 2 people it's the really 2 meter and 30 cm (example) ? if I show for a crowd of carpenters? |

Hello all:
Thank you for the questions sharonyyy. Here are some answers: I do NOT recommend doing this trick too close-up. You are provided with a routine for doing "The Space Between" on 2 people, and essentially they move "themselves" back and forth based on the routine. To say anything beyond this would be exposing the trick. The spectator reactions (as you can tell from the demo) are through the roof! Please let me know if there are any other questions. Thank you for your time. Best regards, Jason Palter Paltergeist Unlimited (416) 410-5766 jason@paltergeist.com |

In the demo video, it displays the word "examinable" on the screen at the end....What is examinable?
