Regards. I'm Daniel, and I'm from the southern land in the world, just hanging from the map: my beloved Chile.

I'm 25 y.o. and I'm finishing my History Degree at the University here in Santiago, writed some essays and little works in colonial sudamericano and medieval history, now I'm assitant professor in an introductory course. Regardless the fact that I like the historic investigation more than the docency, I've done class in some schools to people in psycho-social risk and attentionary risk, using mindtricks and some rudimentary mentalism to get the attention of the boys and girls, and it works.

Well, my hobbies are modelism (WWII tanks model kits), black metal (i've a band), read horror classics (from Machen to Barker. If it spooks, fine to me!), roleplay and war games, historical recreation (actually I'm organizing a XVII-century-faire), and collect old books (my older one is a Cervantes works from 1762), manuscripts (i've quite an archive with some guvernative stuff. My favorite is a volume of the Gobernación of Melipilla from 1868-1872, 393 pags with the province gobernor own handwritting giving orders about issues like stop epidemies of smallpox, tifus, murders, etc) and some antiques related to my country history or the middle ages, like indigenal music instruments, bullets from battles of the XIX Century, etc.

A very good friend of mine, a serious studious of the magic and the mentalism, teach me those little trick what I used to show to the kids. But my interest grows, and now I'm here, learning and taking your suggestion about books and effects. Thanks.

Well, to be honest, actually I'm pretty... lame on this, and for a while I feel, some time ago, like mentalism was like some sort of frustration, and I even think on quit it. But my friend encourage me, and well, here i'm, ready to learn, learn, learn, practice, practice, practice and fail, fail, fail to learn again, practice again and succes.

Sorry for my Tarzan-like english. I can understand every word you write in this lenguage, but its kind of difficult to write it myself. Sorry again, but I hope you can understand at least the 75%.

Saludos!!!

Saludos,
Welcome to TMC. From the travel logs I watch on TV Chile looks like a beautiful country. I too am into making model tanks with dioramas. Mentalism is a branch of magic that I have never gotten into. I have too much of a happy face to be taken seriously when it comes to serious Mentalism and Bizarre Magic effects. I have pulled off Mental Epic and Key-R–ect with good results. These days close-up magic is what I am into.
Thanks,
Bruce
