You mean I have actually won one at last? Smile
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Backing the Ark is a bit easier in hindsight. I had my suspicions about Big Brown all along, but I didn't bet against him.

I suspect a lot more money was lost backing the Titanic than the Ark.

Never be afraid of the professionals. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. And a large group of professionals built the Titanic.

You see a beautiful actress walk down the street, that is not Art, unless you know she is acting and imitating someone or something.

Our Art is an Art when, and only when, they know it is an imitation. The audience can not appreciate anything as art unless they know it is an imitation of something or somebody.

Never be afraid of the professionals?

Never be afraid of taking on the professionals I think that should be, considering what happened.

Well at least Pablo agrees with me.

Oh, I see..! You mean there’s a fine line between something being artistic or charlatanry. You've thought somewhat more about this than I have. Which is why I’m always open to discuss?

You can get a book called "Our Magic" and it is great book. Whit and all the great magicians would advise reading it John. Not that you have to agree with it but it must read for all magicians. It might of print but you can find it on PDF. Maskelyne one of the fellows that wrote it thought somewhat more about this than I have. Moreover he explains it far better than I. If you can't find it pm me.

Bear in mind I am an amatuer card guy and I am a big fan of Whit who is the master, some stuff above is just me kidding with him.

Ahh, I didn't know this was available as a pdf file. And for $8, happy days!

Ta,

John

Although I do enjoy the feeling of a good book in my hands...!

“Out of the hidden and forbidden fastness of Tibet comes the
background for this little excursion into improbability. A Lama,
to a Tibetan, is a superman capable of little parlor stunts like
levitation for an indefinite period, or a stark naked marathon
run of hundreds of miles over 20,000 foot high and hills that
make up the Himalaya's. Mental projection of astral images,
telepathy, all the things that we in our devious ways attempt to
imitate under the guise of magic, are reported to be actualities
to these fantastic sorcerers.”

From:

Parade of the Lamas
Bruce Elliott

That is our Art.

Our Art is not purporting to be a Lama!

I do my best to also experience the "magic" along with the spectators. Almost as if I have no control over what is happening.
There was a time I had the blues,

the reason was I had no shoes.

Until I met upon the street

a man who had no feet.
