Or tell me someone's already doing it. I may use it myself, but I thought someone else might like to use it.

You have borrowed a bill from a parent, the child brought it to the stage. You look at the parent and say, "You probably want this (the bill) back. But little Jeff here should also get a reward for bringing it up on stage."

Pull out a balloon. Put the bill inside the balloon and inflate it. Twist if desired. Hand the balloon to the child. Then look at the parent and say, "Go ahead, take your 10 dollars back if you want."

Did I forget to mention that you start by telling the kids that the one who gets to volunteer for whichever trick leads into this is the one whose parents loan you the largest bill?

That's a great gag, especially with the set up of the biggest bill Smile

Fantastic. Well, I'll be using it myself also.

One of my goals is to be able to work a lot of this kind of stuff up. Right now much of my patter is just a straight-line narrative of some type, story, process patter, etc. It turns my shows into demonstration of my skills. They are good skills, but whenever I have the guts to use stuff I think up, it works. I think in the past stage fright has kept me from trying more, but I've got enough stuff now to really spice up my act, and will be trying out the beefed up act this week.

Eventually I hope to write up patter and presentation ideas for the classics. Either ways to work an effect for all it's worth, or new angles of presentation that add some meaning and/or entertainment, especially humor.

Thanks for reporting back, David.

I tested different balloons before doing the show today. Find the biggest balloons you can find. The neck must be wide enough to get the folded bill in easily. The child must be no older than 5 and should be a girl. Smile
