What a sad state of affairs that we cannot even discuss something so topical and current. Pathetic, actually.
I knew when I posted it that the mods here would not let the topic exist for very long... And yet I had to say it. I suppose that 50 years ago there'd be another 800 pound gorilla in the room that would be completely ignored or banned on a forum like this... OK! Back to talking about what kind of breakfast cereals we're eating or what crummy summer blockbuster movies we are criticizing (better not be "Sex and the City", though... too controversial)! You know, the stuff that really matters!

Supposedly there's a book a character is reading in that movie which has gotten lots of requests on Amazon.com
BTW, holding out hope for Wall-E here.

Careful. There is actually a rule against even discussing the fact that something was deleted, or why.
Woke up.

Hey, under "A Few Rules to Remember", it clearly states:
"Though we do have an area for discussing subjects other than magic, the discussing of Religion (other then a real application as it relates to a magical effect Example: Gospel Magic or topics posted as a discussion in our Stand the Test forum) is strictly Prohibited. The subject is simply too subjective, and more often then not leads to emotional responses and a lot of hurt feelings and/or resentment. Because the Café has a worldwide membership, Politics is another area that is best not tackled here. We are, after all, a magic website. The non-magic area is there for the discussion of lighter subjects, such as movies, best selling novels, etc." While I enjoy a good political discussion as much as the next guy, I can't fault Steve for recognizing the emotion that it creates and making the decision that he'd rather people save it for some other forum than one dedicated to magic discussion. Now, if it's something you really want to discuss with the locals here, someone could start a completely different forum somewhere else and maybe they would allow you to just announce the topic and give a link to the forum and ask people to save their comments for the other forum. |

Does that mean Jon will have to start over from 1?
Not fair to make him put in another week to catch up

Personally, I find it curious how much "stuff" from one side of the fence is allowed to slide -until someone finally blows a gasket. And how quickly stuff from the other side of the fence is nailed down. Again, not challenging it, just commenting on it. It's my ignorant ill-conceived liberal knee-jerk opinion...

Maybe this should be moved to the Stand The Test forum and placed under conspiracy theories...lol
Agreed. It's not about challenging him, it's about commenting on it, an observation. |
