Hello Ellen,
I have the book somewhere on my shelves and as I recall it was an interesting read. But then, my tastes run toward the wierd and offbeat. If yours do also, you'll enjoy the book. Best thoughts, John Smetana |

It's wonderfully interesting, especially if you're interested in contemporary art. I think it's a must read. If you're interested in cabinet of wonders, you should find an edition of Adalgisa Lugli's book "naturalia and mirabilia" and the recent "cabinets of wonder" written by Paul Mauries. Also "Wonders and the Order of nature" by Datson and Park.
And the novel by Preston and Child: "the cabinet of curiosities. |

I thought this was a terrific book, and it's an ongoing source of inspiration to me.
If you're ever in the Los Angeles area, definitely visit David Wilson's "cabinet", The Museum of Jurassic Technology. You can check out the Museum online at http://www.mjt.org. The section on the exhibits will also give you a sense of the flavor of "Mr. Wilson's Cabinet of Wonder"
