Where is it best to position a Fog Machine on a small stage?

If the stage is deep enough, upstage center. It will help to check the draft patterns (air movement) where you will be using it.

FWIW

Cheers! Smile

In a small area, I prefer to chill the fog. That way it will spread evenly and cling to the floor. Commercial fog chillers are readily available or can be built by searching "build your own fog chiller".

I want to enhance my magic show during my levitation and other effects. I also use colored flood lights positioned in front of the stage. I want the smoke to project on the light beams.

Lou,

You might want to go with a hazer instead of a fogger.

A fogger will make a lot of smoke that will eventually disappear. It can also be distracting to an audience as the smoke pouring out of it will pull some focus.

A hazer generally runs continously and gives you a fine haze in the air that will enhance your stage and special effects lighting. Often this is what you see used in concerts and on tv to make the lighting stand out.

Sincerely,
David

Thanks David. I never heard of a hazer. I'll check that out.

The light beams you desire to be visible in the air come from your upstage lights, NOT your downstage lights.

Hope that helps.
