Hello, my name is William, I am new here.

I have two fabric material, the first is, does anyone know the type of black fabric that is good for a black arts routine, mainly one for the Andrew Mayne illusion Specter Cabinet, and the, one that doesn't show a shadow, if light is on in.

And a fabric the can show shadows really good.

Black triple velvet will allow you to do black art effects. Search for it on line, several stores carry it.

No clue as to the second

Thank you cliffg37.

And to clear up the second part, I am looking for a fabric that if you shine a light on it, it will show a shadow very well. Hope that clears it up about my question

Are you going to be behind the cloth, so the audience only sees the shadow and not you (the light is behind you)? Or are you going to be in front, so a spotlight is on you and you cast a shadow onto it.

Either way, a white sheet that you could pick up from any bedding store should do the trick. The best way to test it out is to bring a flashlight with you to the store and make some shadow puppets.

If you're going to be in front of the cloth, you may want to use projector screen material. Google should help you find something that meets your needs.

This is a question of lighting as much as materials.
A white backround will show a shadow the best.
