Prety good. you've got the moves down prety good. loved the wand spin vanish!

I did notice your hand looked a bit off on the final loads. try to time the load so your hand comes out of the pocket just in time for the cup to be transfered to it. you don't want to be holding out a final load for very long.

also, it seemed like you had a hard time getting you final loads out of your pockets. I had the same problem. I switched to a poutch to make it easier. (i don't use a big one like Gazzo does. I use a simple nail poutch I got at a hardware store. its just big enough for the 4 finals and my cups. I also wear it on my side, not in front) since I wear a un-tucked, un-buttoned shirt over a t-shirt, it almost hides the poutch completly

it looked ALOT better than my 1st C&B vid!

Hi Yin,
You did a wonderful job!
The one thing I would say in addition to the above comments is - exhibit more of your personality, infuse yourself into the patter etc. more. I think if you you make the patter more your own, you will be more relaxed in your physical mannerisms as well.
but again, wonderful job and take my comments as nothing but personal opinion.
All the best,
Jeff

I liked it very much, well done, the wand vanishes were nice the spin better than the one trough the hand.
I have 2 recommendations as spectator, the pace could be a little bit faster, and the last load on your right cup is a little bit visible (something happened ...) comparing to the other 2 previous loads. Maybe needs either some misdirection or the body turning to your right or loading with your left hand.
Overall I enjoy the routine very much.

Take care

Good standard routine, well done. I'm sure layman would be amazed.

Re the final loads... I would maybe go for smaller loads, like limes. It would be easier to get them out of your pocket. It is not necessary to have the BIGGEST load you can fit in the cups. The CHANGE is the important part.

I think you do need to work on what you hand AND ARM looks like when you bring handn out of pocket with load. You seem stiff. No need to rush the load. Work on the timing, try to be more casual with the hand and arm

Good first effort. I'm sure you can tell where your sleights need some minor tweaks.
Work on making it entertaining for your audience.
Fooling the audience is half the battle. Entertaining them is the other half.
Time to work on the second part.

Well done Yin! Pete and Frank made some very good points to consider. If I may add, it would be better to angle the cam a bit so that you can make use of your eyes in controlling attention. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your video with us.

Very nice work, as a beginner in C&B it is really helpful to see new videos. My only criticism is in the final loads, the hands look a little guilty. Aside from that -- Keep up the great work!

This is very well done. I can see you have been working very hard on this.

My chief suggestion would be to try to make the spoken phrases more continuous, that is, smoother.

For example, instead of

Ladies and gentlemen....I would now like to show you....what is known as..the oldest trick...in magic.

say,

Ladies and gentlemen..I would now like to show you what is known as .. the oldest trick in magic.

The first pause is to get their attention, the second is to heighten the value of what you are going to say next.

I'll PM you about sone other things that do not need to be revealed on an open forum.

I would add to Bill's comment: Your words are cut between phases; first phase - dead space - next phase - dead space - next phase - dead space... Practice the transitions between phases.

I've seen much worse. Good job.

I disagree about the load timing.

Here is a thread in the secret sessions:

Point taken Pete. I was taking the tip by John Mendoza in his 'My Best' series. Then again his routine was done seated.

I'll also explore the pouch idea. I'll certainly take into account all of the comments.

I think I'll leave the video for 1-2 more days to collect somemore comments then remove the video, since the patter and final loading sequence definately needs work.

FYI, the final loads I use, was purchased at RM4, which is about USD1.50 Smile

Pouches really simplify a lot of things. I'll send you another PM and add something to the other thread I started.

I have since removed the 1st video I made and replaced it with one that was performed for an audience. Please excuse the poor and shaky quality.

It's basically the same Vernon based routine (sorry to disappoint), as I find it to be the most versatile.

I requested some feedback from some Café members via PM, and they have been very kind to respond. So thanks gdw, Bil Palmer and Kent Gunn. I know I still have a long way to go.

Mr. Howe,

I commented on you tube. I believe you're really becoming quite polished.
