Hi guys,
I just would like to know if someone has bought the DVD "Mind Bender" by Chad Sanborn. The spoon bending looks pretty nice on the video, but I'm afraid it is similar to Psycho Kinetic Silver Ware's routine by Banachek... So is it good??????? Thanx ! Franfran

It is high priced compared to say, PsychoKinetic Silverware if you are only after the optical bend.
But that is not to say that it is over-priced as that is subjective. It may just be that PsychoKinetic Silverware and most other magic is too cheap! |

I believe $20 for this DVD is pretty reasonable. How many tricks have you purchased for $20 and not seen what they are like only to be disappointed. At least you can see what you're getting for your $20.

thehawk,
I agree, I was merely illustrating that you get much more on PK Silverware. $20 is not particularly expensive, I spend more than that on taxis several times a week! The optical bend is a very good move too, and not the same as PK Silverware (which has several different moves, in fact whole routines). I was not disappointed with my purchase of either item. |

For my money the optical bend is worth the price of the dvd. I now use this method to bend silverware at my restaurant and walk around gigs.

How's the coin routine on the video?

inxay66, to be honest, I did not like the coin routine, but after watching GaryK, Roth and Fists of Fury, what do you expect me to say?

I'm actually interested in the elastic trick he presents. Crazy cuffs is a common request but to be able to do it at the tips of your fingers like the demo, priceless. I think I'm gonna pick it up.

Ok got it, it's pretty nice.
I don't really like the coin stuff but the spoon bending is pretty good, need to practice but alright. Franfran

I would definitely not recommend this DVD. It is extremely overpriced and the spoon bend is obvious after watching the demo a few times. The coin routine is a weak version of coins across and there are many better impromptu non-gimmicked versions on the market. The rubber band routing is absolutely awful!!!! Sorry if this post angers anyone but I though I should be honest and give my opinion.

I recommend the DVD. I have paid more than $20 for a manuscript!
What did you expect, Chad to come around your house and show you? Seriously though, I challenge you guys to come up with your own effect and put your money where your mouth is and produce a DVD. I think everyone that bought it was interested in the Spoon bend first. The elastic band is a nice bonus. You will have to practise the coin trick. Perhaps that is the real reason some do not like it as this takes a little extra effort? The DVD is well produced and clearly shows how the effects are done. You are told what to expect before you buy it so you can't complain about 'value' as you know what the contents are. If some of you know how the spoon effect is done 'by the demo', then to perform it would be stealing. I would much prefer to support more talented Magicians like Chad who are prepared to share their skills, even if I had worked it out 'by the demo'. |
