I use a taxi 15 but I just bought a pd 150 for my daughter. Most of the time she will perform where there is a plug in but now she wants to busk at some local pitches. I think I've seen people run there PA's off of what looks like a motor cycle battery. Does anyone know any thing about this?

There's a battery unit that Fender makes for their systems. Search for it on Google.

Yes. Fender makes all you need to get that working. The battery and the converter.
You can get both off ebay, probably at a discount. If you don't want to do that and want to be more do-it-yourself you can buy a Power Inverter and battery/car charger. Together, It's basically a battery with a couple AC outlets on it. They have different ratings. So... 1) How big of an inverter and battery will you need? http://www.donrowe.com/inverters/inverte......ery_type That page will give you some idea. There's even a calculator on the page to give you an idea about what you will need to buy. This looks like an all-in-one thingy. Has the battery and the outlets all in one unit. http://www.invertersrus.com/vec026.html You really need to study the power needs of the PD150 and find something that would work. Or do it the easy way and just buy the fender products and be done with it.

I have seen folks do this with a rechargeable boat (trawling?) battery, one that is gel-filled. It seems to work, but as most inverter web sites will tell you, using a cheap inverter that doesn't produce a "pure" sine wave can damage delicate electronic equipment.
Unless you have multo electonics knowledge, it sounds like you might be better off getting the Fender battery system that is made specifically for the Fender PA. It's not cheap, but then neither is a good inverter or a new PA! SETH
