I like the Ladder Levitation from Walter Blaney a lot...The fact you can used it as a one man show is great and a big plus. Did any one know how many Walter made?

In the ads they disclosed 25 purchasers, all of whom were very well known illusionists (Copperfield, Anderson, Burton, Daniels, Siegfried & Roy, etc.). There would also be all the ones which Daniel Summers has built since the baton was passed to him: http://danielsummers.com/ladderlevitation.html. |

I don't know why the Ladder is referred to as a levitation, when it's really a suspension. Granted the general public probably doesn't know what it's called in the catalogs or web sites, but, still...

When I was a kid/teen in the '70s, Zig-Zag was everywhere, over-played, but I loved it.
Now I would say... 1. DC's train Orient Express 2. Things That Go Bump In The Night - seeing Doug Henning do this on a live TV special before VCRs, blew my mind 3. Asrah, Mark Wilson 4. DC's Grandfather's Aces - though not a grand illusion, as a piece of magical art it doesn't get much better. I believe one aspect of it is only available for the camera but even taking that away, it's spectacular.

I definitely have to put Metamorphosis and ZigZag on my list, since they defined "illusion" for me during my formative years.
I also love Pepper's Ghost and the Zombie Ball. And I'll include Origami, not just as a single illusion, but as a class that defined so many others.

You know, it's amazing that the good old Zig Zag still plays- Penn & Teller just closed one of their recent Fool Us episodes with it, and it was great!
