I need to lubricate an aluminum/steel guide. I have an illusion where the top section is wood and slides in an aluminum/steel guide. I need to lubricate so the top slides easier. What are the recommendations?
Thanks Tim |

Very light coat of vaseoline or wd-40 on a rag and wipeded on.

You may also use a parafin wax candle to coat the metal.
The wax will stay longer on the metal. I learned from my wife's father who was an excellent wood and metal worker. |

For the slide tracks on a Zig Zag, I used a Teflon-like thin plastic strip affixed to the metal track.

If your in a pinch, a dry bar of soap will work like wax. You can use a silicone lubricant that leaves a dry film. It comes in a spray can.
