Hi Rudy and thank you for being here. What was the first new illusion you created and what inspired you? Did your family support you from the beginning of your career?

My family supported me as much as they could, but not really in the financial sense - it was always homemade props for me.
(Which was a blessing in disguise, because Home Depot is absolutely the 'Greatest Magic Shop on Earth.') I created a lot of different original magic all through my teens and won contests, etc, but it was definitely the Four Legs act where I felt like I finally hit my stride. It combined everything I loved about the comic books I drew as a kid with original magic and when I walked off stage that first time in the labcoat I knew my life was changed. If I had a sincere wish for my best friends, it would be that they have that experience in their lives. There is no better feeling than finding what you're good at. |
