Go to YouTube and search "Cardini". His performance on Producer's Showcase (1957) is there. However, it's not his entire act that he did in vaudeville and clubs.

Try these on for size... both apparently put up by Cardini's descendants

As noted there just ain't much available. But the little that we have shows us was a great entertainer he was. Perhaps the defintion of a great magician is--a great entertainer who used magic to entertain.

I was also watching some of the material that's out there on Slydini. Bow down to the greats, we may never see their like again.

We will not ever see their like again .. on the shoulders of giants, and all that.

There is or was a guy in Ohio north of myself ( I am in Cincinnati) that was taught the entire act by Cardini himself. I cannot remember the guys name and don't know if he is even still alive. If anyone else knows please let me know. Thanks.
THOUGHTfully,

Check with Howie Schwarzman. Howie knew Swan.

London,
Do we know when about this guy from Ohio was taught the act? 50's 60's 70's. Did he ever do the act or just a hobbiest with a lot of money?

Maybe Bill Brewe can shed more light on this. Tell Bill hi for me.

Something I learned (but does not surprise me) by reading the John Fisher book "Cardini: The Suave Deceiver" is that Cardini was a cinematography enthusiast. (so was Roy Benson, who did both still photography and motion picture cinematography). Cardini's abilities as a mechanical craftsman would have been well suited to experimenting with motion picture equipment. I hope the movies that Cardini made have been preserved and perhaps are in a collection such as the Magic Castle library or the Copperfield collection (?). I don't know if Cardini shot much (or any) footage of fellow magicians performing, or perhaps just relaxing and socializing, but it's intriguing to consider. Also, I wonder if Cardini ever recorded footage of himself performing magic for the camera ? I'm reminded that sleight of hand master Ross Bertram made films of himself performing.

Two images scanned from the Fisher book ; the one on the left shows Cardini (assisted by Swan) performing, while the one on the right shows Cardini filming with his Bolex motion picture camera -

At about the 0:27 spot of this promo video of The Miracle Factory's DVD "Vintage Magic Films: Silent Films of Early Magic Stars" there are a few brief seconds of a clean-shaven Cardini producing a few cards one after the other.:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCNgQL-4cFw

The card production is the one described in _Dai Vernon's More Inner Secrets of Card Magic_ by Lewis Ganson. I wish Cardini had included that production in the Festival of Magic special.

Johnny Hart does a great job with that Cardini production at the 0:49 spot of this YouTube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAZCBFJcM9o
producing single cards simultaneously from both hands.
