Thanks to Scott Franz for tipping me off to this excellent forum!

I've been performing and collecting magic for about 25 years. Close up work is my 'specialty,' esp. card stuff. I travel a fair amount throughout the U.S. (on business), and I try to make it a point to check out the local magic shops whenever possible.

My favorite stops are Lou Tannen's and Hank Lee's. In Minneapolis, I'm lucky enough to have 2 excellent magic shops - Eagle Magic (in Minneapolis) and Twin Cities Magic (in St. Paul).

Welcome David, from another total newbie. Like you, I travel a lot...and make it a point of stopping in stores like Tannens, Hank's, Denny and Lee's, and the Cuckoo's Nest in Pittsburgh.

I tell my wife that when most men travel, their wives worry about what they're doing. Our wives have to worry about what nonsense we'll bring back from the stores!

It feels like Minnesota weather today here in Northern California - except for the snow part, that is. Welcome, kick off your shoes and stay a spell.

Folks from Minnesota are a hardy breed, what with Winter Carnivals and parades in subzero weather, raking snow off your roofs... I traveled there for a couple of winters - and learned what "Winter" really means...

So - considering that you have survived Minnesota winters, you will be able to handle things around here pretty well!
