Hi guys, I'm originally from Wisconsin and my finace Mistie is from Mississippi, and I have lived in Las Vegas now for 15 years now. I've been doing magic every since I was a kid, and I spent several years working as an apprentice under Brett Daniels - I'm the guy in black with Brett on all the World's Greatest specials. After leaving Brett's show I worked mostly at Magic Island, Wizards, The Magic Castle, Magicopolis, and It's Magic!, and for the last 7 years the cruise ship industry has taken all the time I have availble. We're currently booked with Royal Caribbean until 2010, right now sailing out of Los Angeles, and we're back in Las Vegas every few weeks. Our show is booked as an illusion show, but we've got tons of audience participation and we peform some nice close up and mentalism pieces as well.

Mistie joined the show 5 years ago, and since then magic has become her passion as well and she now has an impressive knowledge of the art. She's involved in every aspect of the show, and in addition to the choreography and illusions she has 14 costumes changes as well. She's a former Miss Las Vegas 2006 and Miss Nevada US 2007, and just became my finace eariler this year.

Feel free to check out our website and say hello, we look forward to meeting you!

Kyle,

I enjoyed checking out your website. Tell Mistie to please continue with the little backstage blog. I found it interesting to hear the inside "details" that nobody would otherwise know about.

Hi Kyle!

Great to hear from a real "working" magician. Enjoyed your website ("Compressed" is my favorite illusion).

Welcome to the Café!

Hi guys, thanks for the comments about the website. I try to keep it updated with new information all the time, and I've got several other behind the scenes blogs in the works. And thank you Bruce for the compliment! - Mistie

I saw Kyle and Mistie's show about 4 years ago. they have a really cool walking through a fan routine, and also shadow theatre (an illusion I had never seen anyone performing before or since)

Hi Kyle,

Welcome to the Café! Good to see you. I was just reading your blog, is it not possible to fax your lighting diagram ahead and have the lights rigged, coloured up and just focus them when you get there? That's what we used to do all the time when I worked on a tech crew, it would save you those 4 - 12 hours at the venue....

Just a thought Smile

Hi Brian, We do that to a degree with the standard fixtures, but because our show requires such detailed lighting with specific timing we need to be there and have the equipment onstage to design it. Most of the ships have MAC 250s or other intelligent lighting and the bulk of the initial lighting design is spent programming the gobos and the different cues that happen with the magic onstage. We've tried it different ways over the years, and we've found that it's one of those things that if you want it done right you have to do it yourself.

My wife has been in LV for 30 years, and me for 5. We grew up across the street from each other in Michigan, and got married at The Paris 2 years ago. I'll have to watch for you when you're back in Vegas between engagements. I looked at your website and hope I can catch your show somewtime. Looks excellent. Too bad Caesars got rid of their magic lounge years ago. It was a great place. Look forward to meeting you at some point.

Welcome Kyle to the Café. This is a great place where magicians really can help other magicians. I hope you will enjoy it here and get a lot out of it. It has helped me a great deal and I have met some really great people in the process. If I can be of any help to you at all, please just simply let me know. Enjoy and welcome.

My wife is also very much my magical partner on stage. She is an intrical part of the illusions we do and does her own magic acts within the show. I am very grateful that she not only loves magic but that she can do it with me.
