Can you guys tell me what the best ring would be to purchase and also, what should I get for vanishes? The Raven? The Gecko?
Thanks |

The Wizard PK G2 Ring is supposedly the strongest one available. Can't comment about the Raven or Gecko as I haven't go either.

I own a wizard g2 pk ring, and I recommend that as far as pk rings go. I love my black widow for vanishes/transpositions/etc, but the price may be too high for what you want. Definitely wouldn't want the raven, and I plan on getting the gecko shortly. But the gecko is only good for lightweight objects, and isn't practical for returning a vanished item. I also plan on investing in a vernet universal pull, because it's so cheap. If you usually wear a jacket, the best and most effective means of vanishing virtually any item, in my opinion, is a topit.

Well, I own the gecko and I'm very happy with it. It comes with a gimmick to vanish light objects and one for heavy objects as well, and it really works well after you put your time into it. The raven is nice for magnetic stuff. With both of these gimmicks you need to wear a jacket, open shirt, hoodie; even a vest I guess. The topit is a great addition to your magic, but of all the things I've mentioned I think it is the hardest to get right. It is an advance type of thing. I think Michael Ammar compares the use of the Topit with performing a pass in card magic. It can be done badly by everyone and beautifully by those who are willing to put a lot of time into it. You have to modify your coats for that one. It has costed me only $15dlls to get installed. To answer your original question though, if you're undecided between the gecko and the Raven get the gecko and you can vanish non-metalic and larger objects.
I think this is one of the cheapest PK rings available. http://www.supermagnetman.net/index.php?......78ed03fd They break over time, so I go for the cheap ones. Magician friends tell me that there's not really much difference. If you're buying a ring, however, make sure you know what you will use it for. I've met a bunch of people who buy them and then don't know what to do with them. Prohibition, cap in bottle is a good one. I know, you are probably thinking that you have too many options. I would pick one and get good at it. I would also consider slide of hand methods. David Stone's "The Real Secrets of Magic" has a whole lot of vanishes and productions that are very powerful and practical. Let us know what you get and how it works for you. |

I'm planning on buying the Wizard Pk ring G2. My question is: Is it fragily and brake with use? Since I'm not a professional magician, I was thinking on using the ring all the time, so people wouldn't suspect a "new" ring on my fingers at times I do magic.
You guys who have a PK ring, think it could endure a allday use? On the web I read that it can be worn continuously. |

Felipe,
Have you played with Neodyme magnets before? If not, you will probably break it really quick, just because you will want to experiment how it works, and when you let things hit it they will break it. If you think you have enough continence, or if you know how these magnets work then it will last you longer. Maybe even a couple of years if you're really careful. Just never hit it or let it fall to the floor. One strong impact against another hard object and that might be it for it. The main thing to keep in mind is that although it looks like metal it is not. You also have to know that if you're wearing it on the regular basis you will accidentally bump into stuff that you didn't know would be attracted to the magnet, and with enough of those it will break. I would actually recomend finding a similar ring made out of metal. I hope this helps. PS. If you're going to wear it every day, be careful not getting your ring hand near magnetic cards. It may damage credit cards. So, I wo |

Oh, I guess I confused you by that comment "I would actually recomend finding a similar ring made out of metal. " -I meant getting a regular, non-pk ring to wear when you're not performing.
