At Venthaven I finally broke down and bought an Axtell magic drawing board. I have been playing around with it and I think it is going to work well in my show.

If nothing else, it is great to have on hand if you have to "stretch" your show.

Even as a terrible artist, it adds something because the drawing can make fun of my lack of talent at drawing.

I was thinking of using the Art o Matic tape but only up to the point where you reveal the drawing and then do my own routine from there.

I have one and it always gets a great reaction. Something about it coming to life really draws a response! Once you use it in your show it may become more than a time stretcher.

I agree. I have already started to see multiple uses.

I've been doing a boy's camp show for many years. I did their show 2 weeks ago. When I pulled out the drawing board I got a round of applause. That's much better that "Oh, Oh, I know this one" The same thing happened with Vern. As soon as I said I brought a bird with me, they started clapping and cheering.

I try to keep my repeat shows new and fresh.

So some years I leave the Drawing Board out of the show.

I use the Art-O-Matic Axtrax

Because it's a prefect routine.

Start, middle and endings.

And when I leave the drawing board routine out of the show I get asked why I didin't do it or where is the white board that talks?

I also rotate material for repeat shows but it had been 3 or 4 years since I had done those at the camp. The older campers remembered them from earlier years. Luckily their reaction was positive.

Problem in Manila is almost every magician has the MDB...
