You can prevent flashing by not unbuttoning the overcoat.

And you say this because?
Remember, even Vernon was not totally happy with the expose/explanation. He used it as a method of obtaining something. Michael Vincent's routine eliminated this completely. Nobody misses it.

My c&b pet peeve: incessant tossing the ball from hand to hand before a transfer. It's confusing to the audience and incredibly transparent. Just "put" the flippin' thing in your hand and be done with it.

Penn & Teller's clear cups routine (even if they're Penn & Teller).

I'm tempted to list ten items that include "thou shalt not kill"...
But I'll refrain ;-) - stop thinking too soon. - run when not being chased. - worry too much about angles. - worry too little about angles. - fail to connect with the audience. - fool oneself into thinking that stuff will fly by the audience. - fool oneself into thinking that the audience doesn't know what a pouch is for. - play dance of the props in the performer's hands. - forget that an investment is necessary to keep track of three balls under three cups. - neglect to elicit that investment from the audience.

I saw Vernon do this live a couple of times. It was the least "elegant" part of his routine.
Have you seen Michael Vincent's way of eliminating this "elegant" move?

I think it's an interesting approach, but not an improvement on Vernon's original.

I know it's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, but why do you think that?
