I've recently released an e-book entitled, "Magic Modeling Language (MML 1.0)." It is a technique for abstractly visualizing the dynamics of our magic. It is available free of charge, here:
http://alvo.typepad.com/MML/MML-1.0.pdf I would now like to announce a call for papers. "Dynamic Magic" is a compiled book of MML essays I'm currently working on. I invite anyone who would like to contribute to email me. The essays can be any length, and can discuss any elements of MML. From the specification itself, to analyzing or comparing a particular set of tricks. I will need final submissions by midnight September 1st, so please send rough drafts and concept work to me asap. MML is just a baby right now, and the MML 1.0 book a launch-pad for great things to come. My hope is that by discussing and using Effect Maps, MML will grow to be a very powerful tool to further analyze and refine our performances. Alvo |
