I've been looking for this book on the internet for quite some time but have been unable to find a site that actually has it available for purchase. I've heard rumors of a reprint but haven't heard much about it since. Does anyone know somewhere that I can purchase this book? Thanks in advance for your help.
I am looking to buy Pressley Guitar items in good condition. Send me a PM for details.

I hope you don't want it to learn sideshow stunts.

Yup, Big no for learning stunts find a real live person to teach you and you will do much better. Other than that it is mostly magic tricks. So unless your in to those then its not worth it though it is interesting to read.

Penguin's website says that it is out of stock. Is there some other place that it is available? I don't want to buy to learn side show effects. I just think that it would be an interesting read and hopefully expand my magic horizons in some way. Thanks for the help so far.....but does anyone know where it is actually available and NOT sold out? Thanks.

It's out of print, the publisher may eventually reprint it (Kaufman), but usually it's a few years before he does a reprint, like with "New Magic of Japan" and/or "Five Times Five Japan". You could always email Richard and ask him if he has any plans. Other than that you'd have to probably hit up the secondary market (ie Ebay, Half, etc.), you may by chance find some obscure dealer that has a spare copy in stock or maybe in the "For Sale" section, but the likelihood is slim. Best of luck to you, but I wouldn't pay a lot for it, while you're correct that it's an entertaining read, that's about all it is. Not much mind expanding material in it.

I found one in stock at
http://www.kwmagic.com/index.php?main_pa......_id=1349 This book is incredible. Even if you don't want to do sideshow stunts. |

No... it is interesting and worth having but not incredible, never attempt to learn a sideshow skill from this book.

Oh, but Swami/Mantra gives such great advice when "teaching" sideshow stunts. One of the best pieces of advice is at the end of "Blockhead". It reads, "The effect is extremely impressive, and requires NO PRACTICE OR EFFORT, except the showmanship in selling it." In my opinion, anyone who attempts Blockhead after reading Swami/Mantra is going to die.

Remember what they say about something sounding too good to be true?
Quote from xteremagics.net "Note : Physical copy is rare but available in many site . But we are only site supplying Digital format." I'm guessing Richard Kaufman didn't publish the digital edition. This user only has two posts on the Café and they are exactly the same. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm not a massive fan of Swami-Mantra myself. It's pushed as this big geek book, but over 90% of it is about cards and coins. Now as a generl magic book it's okay, it just seems like a waste. And certainly not a geek book
