I was playing around with a particular ambitious finale and thought a similar method could be used for a stop trick. Basically you'd secretly flip over or half pass the bottom quarter of a deck and get a glimpse at the bottom upturned card. Have spectator cut off a chunk of cards from the deck. Have them deal them onto the remaining cards in your hand until they'd like to stop. At that point you can reveal a written prediction while quite easily flipping the deck over. The spectator himself can flip over the card to reveal they stopped on your prediction. I'm assuming this is old, old hat, but I've never seen it in print. Has anyone seen this method around?

Yes, although the exact sources escape my memory at the moment. I'm sure some of our friendly magic experts here will know. I actually employed the principle a couple of years ago for a card at any number routine I was working on.
