Z,

I like the back to back method a lot. I'm new to memorized deck stacks and I'm still getting my feet wet here---but I practiced a little with your back to back and it looked very nice. The flick change is one of my favorite moves ---so when I saw your post I had to try it.

Thank you,

Eric

For the record, the sandwich effects you mention are explained on my website. As you say, very effective because there are no sleights.

A lot of the possibilities are very obvious and one stumbles across them by simply putting prior knowledge into the equation when considering what one can do with the mem deck. It's not unique or original thought in the true sense of the concept; its simply the application of logic to the situation in hand. The sandwich effect just mentioned is unlikley to be original to the Loomis website. Lots of people stumble over simple solutions. Lots of people have stumbled over the use of and need for double backed cards quite independently of each other for example. The trick is to use as much 'stream lined' thinking as possible to ensure solutions are eye-catching or thought provoking. Dennis's website has many ideas based on the thinking of various people. not all of it is earth shattering though and can hopefully be improved on. Use it as a starting point for discovering the kind of logic others have applied to these questions and then make it better.
I feel as if I have been whisked here from another life....it may even have been my own!

Count Zapik,
I agree with all that you say. My Web site is a collection of thoughts. Some are complete routines or effects others are certainly jumping off points. It is NOT a big breakthrough to notice that there are three sets of "Sandwich" cards where a particular card is surrounded by "mate" cards. If you jazz with the Aronson stack, and one of these sandwich cards is named, you have a very strong effect with no sleights. If you hadn't thought of it, you miss a chance to do some strong magic, and so it's on the site.

I do hope that everyone that visits my site will continue to think about the various ideas and to improve them where possible, create variations that are more suitable to them, and to generally put themselves into their magic.
