I used to worry about the shiny or glossy paint that is on most palmos and hank balls, but after using them even in close up situations I found that it is nothing to worry about. It's more of an issue that we as magicians worry about than anything, a self confidence issue.

Now the only reason I change the coating is is make them less slippery.
