Think of ZAP of the CHUCK NORRIS method of induction...
"And the sound of your head bouncing off the concrete will take you deeper... and deeper..." Seriously... some of methods border... if not cross... the line of assualt... and possible battery here in the US. It may vary in other countries... with less personal freedoms... I hear it's all the rage in Iran! |

Zap doesn't need to be violent. The video does make it look that way, but I've seen quite a few people perform it much softer. The demo was shot that way because it looked better. It's a full induction. You can do any of the standard tests and shows after you Zap someone. Once again, lots of reviews from people that don't own the product or have/are releasing competing products have skewed opinions of Zap.

No they have views based upon the video and in many cases many years experience with hypnosis. The video shows a stupid and violent act being carried out. What you really mean is Zap doesn't have to be zap it can be something else.
You just can't accept that the vast majority of experienced hypnotists on here think its a piece of crap. Including ones that have seen the whole product. Its just an over priced silly induction. This is bad for hypnosis, bad for misguided newbies who buy it and ultimately bad for the victims on the recieving end. Crap would be a better title than zap. |

The key words are "On Here". This isn't the be all, end all of hypnosis sites. It's not even a hypnosis site. Do you really want to start this again? You hate the product and think it's a joke, I totally disagree. I don't think either of us is going to give up our opinions. If people would stop telling lies about Zap, I'll leave the subject alone. That's the only reason I even post on these topics. Stop lying and I stop posting. It's really pretty simple.

What lies?
It's a piece of crap. that's obvious. Its marketing demonstration preaches disrespect to members of the public. Its just an induction one of hundreds nothing more (and a bad one). Its nothing new been around as long as I can remember. Its dangerous especially for newbies. Its not even necessary to jerk someone like that. This product is aimed at newbies who don't have the ability to judge. Most likely anyone who likes this will be utrained in hypnosis and not know any better. Its about making a fast buck. In most hypnosis forums including on here they are made up from many wanting to be a hypnotist then quite a few flogging products then a few seasoned hypnotists who just come on for something to do. Most forums are full of those that do not know any better. However this one has got it right as regrards to crap I mean zap. Why can't you just accept that the majority on here just don't rate it. Nothing to do with lies. Go peddle it somewhere else. |

Jeff Corn Inner circle Las Vegas 1190 Posts |
Who's peddling? I'm correcting lies that others are throwing out as the truth. I'm not connected to the product and make no money off of it. I have nothing to gain or lose.

Jeff,
If you don't want the ultra-violence of Zap, why not just pick up Cebrone's Speed Trance... or Sean Andrew (Don Patterson)'s most excellent Rapid Induction DVDs. Both of their methods are just as fast and MUCH less violent. Or... go look on YouTube for the Hypno Sculpturing... talk about suprise attack hypnosis - yet not really violent. |

I am legally deaf and I have always wondered if Hypnotizing works on deaf people? So if someone yanks on my arm and yells "SLEEP" and I don't hear him, what am I supposed to do? Should I say "WHAT" and then kick him between the legs?
Interesting question, does hypnotizing work on Deaf people? If not then it makes me wonder if it really works on anyone? ***Off topic story**** When I was a teen my family moved to the North Carolina from Ohio and we never attended church. Anyway, my new friends ask me if I wanted to go to a Rock'n Roll Concert and of course I said yes, so we ended up going to this Church that had a Christian Rock band. The church was empty except the minister and us 10 or 15 friends. We got into a tight group while the minister was saying a few words and all of a sudden everyone started crying including myself, but I am deaf and did not hear a word the minister had spoken. Why did I cry if I did not know what was being said? This made me very angry, I felt like I was manipulated and taken advantage of, therefore I never attended another church again unless it was a wedding. Was I hypnotized? |

Here is a Possible explanation:
I teach persuasion skills to sales/business people. The most bsaic premise of persuasion is that whatever you feel your prospect will feel. I teach clients to get rapport. ( go into similar emotional states than their prospects then change into emotional states that you want you prospects to feel). The idea is whatever you feel will be transmitted to your prospect. They for example, will pick up on fear, enthusasm, doubt or excitement! In fact what you currently feel will be transmitted to others. If this theory is true (and I believe it is) then you picked up on the feelings going on in the room. Hypnosis defintely works on deaf people. I have experience of it happening at a show. Suggestion on stage is delivered through more than one channel of verbal communication. |

Okay. I've only seen the promo video. But let me get this straight... Almost unbelievably, you are taught to walk up to a total stranger and ask them about their mental health whilst LAUGHING at them, about mental problems. "You don’t have any psychiatric problems DO YOU? (hah, ha)". Hilarious. I'm sure it would do any performer a world of good when an offended sufferer complains to the management about having his or her medical problems mocked for "entertainment". Then you do the whiplash induction, yanking them down to the floor, head to the PA, hands to the broken glasss, elbow to the concrete. Zap, created by children, taught to children. With Jeffy Corn suckered in to defending it constantly (JC: "Guys, I don't feel any real desire to defend the product here." !!) just because they befriended him. Lies! All lies I tell ye! Obviously continuing on the strategy that there's no such thing as bad press huh. Hallelulah brothers. ======= ZAP, direct quotes: ======= "this can be considered dangerous, if you do it wrong, because of the fall." “Zap at your own risk” “You are going to be responsible, you know, if someone has a hip problem, a joint problem” “WARNING!!! Do not attempt to Zap anyone that is unhealthy" “A lot of hypnotists are being sued right now, because people are getting hurt on stage…or groped while you catch them (and gestures the action), all sorts of things!” “I caught him on my shoulder ... sometimes this can be MORE dangerous than letting them fall on the ground.” “ You are going to be ridiculed, you’re gonna be shocked, … at what you see, what you now can do.” (Had to repeat this last one as it was the most informed and entertaining thing on the whole DVD) ========= |

So if someone yanks on my arm and yells "SLEEP" and I don't hear him, what am I supposed to do? Should I say "WHAT" and then kick him between the legs? Yup hard, then call your legals and take their money too. As far as deafness and hypnosis, that is a perfectly legitimate question and probably one best asked and answered in a separate thread. Certainly as long as deaf people go into "trance" naturally (as you do do), there are ways of helping you along with it on demand. Alas, going further into that is going to be an unforgivable distraction from the entertainment value of seeing the continued trashing of Jeffy Corn and Zap here. |

That's funny. You added a y to the end of my name and made it sound childish. Wow. That's a great one. You may want to try leaving comedy to comedians and bullying to the bullies, because you're really not good at whichever one you're shooting for. I'm being trashed? I'm always being trashed here. Not really a big deal. I don't feel a need to suck up to anyone, so my opinions instantly don't matter. That's the reason so many guys avoid this site. It really is. Me, on the other hand, I still enjoy magic and discussing it. I'm also very will to let people know who I am. I don't hide behind so uber-cool screen name. My name is right out in the open, as opposed to Mindtrap, which sounds like something a child would throw together. That's not the point of this discussion, so let's leave that alone.
The fact of the matter is that I know the guys that put it out. I only know them because I was at a workshop where they taught it and I watched it work. That's an undeniable fact. I was there and it worked. Legitimately. No one got hurt. No one was uncomfortable. No one was judo thrown to the ground. No one complained about anything that was taught. Those are undeniable facts. Unfortunately, the argument of "Everything you're saying about it being dangerous is false and here's why" doesn't seem to work here. Apparently, trashing me is making your arguments seem more legit. In my opinion and the opinion of others here, you're now trashing me because you really can't dispute the facts that I'm throwing out. I've seen it work. You say it doesn't work because you "know" it doesn't, I know it does because I've seen it with my own eyes. In the demo where Jay Zapped the big black guy, that guy is a friend of mine that had no idea who Jay was. One more time where it worked. I point out that it worked and people started insulting the magic shop for having a dirty floor. This is a ridiculous argument to be having, because you're making arguments based on your thoughts of the product, while I'm making them based solely on the fact that I've seen it work. How is there any argument left?

We are trashing you because you are basically calling us liars when its plain to see we are only reporting the obvious.
You say it "works". So does every induction. I would question your ability to make a real judgement here. Perhaps one day when you are properly educated on the subject of hypnosis you may come back and aplogise for calling us liars in the confusion of not really knowing what you are talking about. In the meantime happy zappin. |

If these things are so obvious, why are you so interested in pointing them out? If it's obvious, there's no need to beat it into the ground. As for calling people liars, anyone saying this induction doesn't work, that it's not safe, that it's not Hon's too sell, or any other claim like that are lying. I call'em like I see'em. It's not the popular approach, but it's the one I prefer.

Yes that's the problem you call them like you see them. One day your eyes might see the truth. Perhaps when you have done some other more indepth trainings.
We call it like we see it. Obviously that's not popular with you and you don't have the ability at the moment see it. |

You can't honestly tell me that everyone here calls it like they see it. Too many are persuaded to call it like their wallets would like it to be. How many people piggybacked off Zap? Every demo for Zap was highjacked with promotional material for other hypnosis courses. Zap is the first hypnosis DVD I've seen that didn't bore me to tears. I lost a lot of interest in hypnosis after watching some of the "best on the market" DVDs from the guys everyone's telling us to search out.
