Just saw a guy.. today.. at the fest on the street.. he did 2 tricks in about 45 mins.
Unbelievable. I've been there all week, been unimpressed, but entertained, and then I see this guy vanishing a silk, and the best cups and balls I've ever seen on the street. All the other guys seem to have been brought up at the knee of Gazza... TWO TRICKS! 45 MINS! NICE HAT! - in fact.. probly the biggest hat I saw all week. But..then.. it never rained. just for that one day.. Here's all I know: He's American been living in Edinburgh for 5 years) He's 32 (according to him - and hey! I got no reason to believe he's lying...!) Got a kind of gingery/bleached bob.. Sounds like Dennis Leary... Help me!! We were in a rush.. tipped his hat.. but were unable to hang around for the banter.. So.. who is he? Cheers!! DCB

Thank you, Ian and Vernon!..You are, of course, quite correct.
If anyone out there reading this, has any leanings towards performing street magic.. I would urge you to catch Mr. Various - watch, listen, and learn. I've just breezed through Covent Garden today, and saw nothing to compare with this guy. A bit edgy to begin with.. but when he hit his stride, he took that crowd. Regards, DCB

He also has a Straitjacket Routine that I saw him perform in Key West which I think is even better than his Cup and Ball routine which I also have had the pleasure to see. To top it all off he is a really nice guy.
This is as Todd describes his two minutes of fame. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edin......3184.stm |

There was great video of him performing the cups and balls on you tube...
I think it has been removed... If anyone could find it, it was worth watching. Shawn
