I tried it when I was starting as a vent two years ago...it's very good and gets great audience reaction if you perform it well.
The routines are very nice

I just ordered the hiccup routine a few days ago.
I will let you know how it works out. The script sounded funny... Mark Pettey Naples, FL

Actually, if anyone has problems with venting, you can create a script that omits all the difficult letters.
That will do. |

I think I have almost all the Axtrax.
They are all good! The "Wide Open" Hiccups is one you can do for kids or Adults. "The bird trainer" is a compulation of all (or almost all) the "Bird" routines put together. (on cassette) But axtell does not offer this anymore. I asked! Happpy Bird Day is a good one too. They are all good! I THINK......Art-O-Matic w/drawing board is the BEST thing Axtell puts out for non-vents. If I want to learn an Axtrax....I play it in my car, over and over and then practice with the script in front of me. And if I'm not ready and havent remember the script I have some of the key words on my case. As a cheat sheet if you will. So for almost any Themed Show, Ax has a Trax for you. All summer I've been using the Dusty the Smoke Smeller Axtrax with of course Dusty Dragon. He is a Great looking dragon. I ordered him special. He has ears and blows smoke.

I agree, they are awesome. But, Ax needs to expand his selection of Trax! There's a lot of us non vents out here who crave new material!

Thanks folks.... Bird Trainer was produced back in the late 80s and was the first Goofy Bird CD and it was just way too long at 14 minutes. So we cut it down into 2 different ones and edited some more into them....they became the shorter "Rope Trick" & "Hiccups".
We only have so much writing, recording and editing time so we have been putting our efforts into the "Wide Open" which have 5 different voices doing each of the routines. The same 5 voices are on all the Wide Open, so you can use any of the routines with almost any puppet by choosing one of the voices. Some of the AxTrax will have animatronic data added to them and will be come MagicTrax for the Hands-Free puppets. To see the list of available AxTrax at this point go to http://www.axtell.com/axtrax.html We will be adding more especially in the area of safety and character for schools.

I have the Possum AxTrax. Great routine. I had too modify it slightly for 3-4 year olds because the "road kill" portion was a little to scary for young ones, but I would definitely recommend them for individuals who are just learning to vent like me.

That's the one I just ordered last week. I listened to all the samples on Steve's site, and that one seemed to be the best for using in a lot of different situations. It is funny, too ! According to Betsy (Ithink that is her name ?) it has been shipped, and should be here by the end of the week. I will let y'all know how it sounds once I get it cranked up and try it out.

I tired the link but it wouldn't work for that script. Besides, I wouldn't want to just download it and use it (or parts of it) without paying Steve something.

The scripts are free to use... The AxTrax are not only for non-vents. Vents can use the intro music, sound effects, song trax and exit music for the routine. Those elements are available on the CDs. What link doesn't work?

Steve,
The Hiccup script kept coming up with an internal error of some kind, but all the other scripts were working.

My Hiccups Axtrax CD arrived last night from an apologetic UPS man. It had tire tracks on the front and back of the envelope. YIKES ! It supposedly got misplaced on the truck (more likely under the truck !). I was astonished to find the CD was completely unharmed inside, and the script was intact as well.
I listened to all the tracks, and this thing is so cool ! The music cues are quick and snappy, and the comedy is fast and funny. I was really surprised how easy it was to find the right timing to mesh up with the prerecorded bird cues. I think I will have to order a couple more of these while my vent practicing continues the slow climb to performance-ready status. Hats off to Axtell on this product. I am diggin' it ..... I used the Axtrax Hiccups routine for the first time in live performance today. I had two shows to do, so the first one used a silent puppet routine (he whispered in my ear), while I used Steve's CD on the second show. As I suspected, it worked like a charm !
My hat is off to you, Ax, for once again helping me to take my show to the next level. Now back to practicing my hard letters..... Mark Pettey Naples, FL

Thanks for the great feedback! I'm sorry about the tire tracks....that was probably your competition trying to stop you from using them! I'm glad it wasn't destroyed.
I'll look into the broken link and get that fixed. For those of you getting a Hands-Free Puppet....many of these AxTrax will be converted over to a "MagicTrax" with the animation control / programming of the puppet included. We'll have more info at http://www.axtell.com/remote.html Ax
