Decent manipulations, a little different, but boring as a demo though. No audience. I personally lost interest a few minutes into it.

Hello Bill,
Here's another version for you then. "Decent" manipulations... I think they're a little better than that. Best, Russ |

I've seen this video once before. Very talented young man. Would go over great with a younger audience. "Demo" video is waayyyy too long though.

Great dancing cue stick and split fans with jumbo cards.
I left him a comment.

Hello Chrostopher,
The video wasn't intended for magicians, but for a client that wanted to watch the whole edit. I've taken it down, but here is the promised link to a shorter edit... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrTzkzbd3Mw Best, Russ |

I think he perform a nice show, different, and, as Russ says, for a client is a good demo.
in the last days, I have seen many coments about people who show their work, and some magicians always have sarcastic words, as if they were in a high level. of course, not always say good things, but in this case, I think we can see that there are a hard jod behind the show, or at least, who has done a music show anytime, knows. decent foot twisting, Bill ( sorry for my english, but I hope you could understand what I mean) |

Where I come from Descent means good. But if you don't like good I can use an opposite! LOL Really I like his style though.
I still stand that the demo doesn't sell though. As a buyer of talent I want (and my clients) want to see what is in it for them. They want their audience to be happy which makes them look good. Basic marketing principal. Karvis, actually the foottwisting video I have is actually crap (dark quality), and the routine has expanded since that footage was filmed (that footage was actually made for a very well-known magician to see honest reactions from lay people). I appreciate the compliment though. |

Russ:
Well done on the editing, however, the Shiny Toy Guns track isn't as cool as the original material. That being said, the track will appeal to the younger audiences that I mentioned in my 1st post. Where is this talented lad performing? Cheers, Chris |

Hi Chris,
The guy is called James More and I think he's destined for big things. He lives and works mainly in the Uk at the moment. The original edit that I did, which has been taken down was for a client and was of his whole ten minute act. The new clip video was edited by his friend and he chose the music. Best, Russ |

Yes, he's good.
He moves well and is comfortable on stage. He's got chops, and is clean, you can see he works hard. He's nice looking, and has a few original seeds for ideas. But,today One has to be one-of-a-kind to be a major success, it's not enough to be somewhat different, you have to innovate. And, along with skill, your persona must shine through and connect with the audience. And this music does nothing to support his work. He has the potential to be a wonderful performer, he needs to learn, over time, to be "him" and only himself, and toss out all he's learned, and carve out and create originality, and use that hook -and his persona- to infiltrate the spectators hearts and minds. The footage is good, but to my thinking, he's not "there" yet. Harsh? No. Realistic? Yes, as someone who has to walk that road everyday. My thoughts, Walt |

Hi Walt,
Yes, of course you're right, but at 20 years of age I think that he's attained an enviable standard already. On a live level, he makes a complete connection with his audience and although the act was shot without an audience, there are points where you can see this. I agree about the music James has chosen for the montage, but one of the great things about his act, is the music that he uses. Not the cheesy Cirque style stuff that every silent act seems so fond of lately. Maybe I'll put the complete edit up again for you to see. Best, Russ |

It's David Beckham does magic. He's skilled, young, obviously hardworking and a good looking guy to boot. Girls hot for a magician; that's a rare happening. If he persists and can control his onstage image completely he really could have a promising future I personally think. Good luck to him.

The energy and acting flowed nicely because of the great skills he put in the performance.
It had a nice upbeat fresh look combining subtle hard hitting visuals with smooth handling techniques. |

I didn’t get to see the first one. I did enjoy this cut. Nice promo film. As suggested above I think that the next incarnation of the promo video needs some audience shots of people really enjoying the experience. He’s good and will only get better with more face time with live audiences. I think that he is more than on his way to being unique and different.
