Just like to update that I have added Kent Gunn to the Cup and Balls interviews -

http://www.magicaroundtheworld.com/info/......dex.html

http://www.magicaroundtheworld.com/info/......unn.html

Also doing some updates on the routine list for chop cup workers -

http://www.magicaroundtheworld.com/info/......ups.html

The previous chop cup list included a few more names. I would appreciate if I could get more info for the following to include in the chop cup workers list.

Dai Vernon

Which chop cup did he used? Metal? Leather? Specially made?
I heard he used Dollar bills - crumpled as working ball?
What is his finale? What kind of final load?
Did he use a wand for this routine?

David Roth

Which chop cup did he use? Metal? Leather? Please specify?
Did he use different color balls as working balls? How many?
What kind of final load did he use?

Eric DeCamps

Which chop cup did he use? Metal? Leather? Please specify?
Did he use different color balls as working balls? How many?
What kind of final load did he use?

Any additional names submissions are welcome but please provide more info based on the questions above - that way the web page would be more informative for all of us.

Please note the format used at -

Thanks everyone for all the contributions

I don't know of Dai Vernon ever using a chop cup. He was famous for his three cup routine, and he did that well. He may have done an impromptu routine with a coffee cup and a crumpled dollar bill, but I don't think that was a regular part of his repertoire. It may not have even involved a chop cup.

In all the years I saw Vernon work, never saw him do a chop cup.

Thanks, Bill and Pete. Then I cannot put his name into the chop cup list. Vernon's name for the chop cup was posted in the previous thread I started for this routine list.

James,

Thanks for adding Kent's interview to the list. For the most part, I find Kent's Café posts facinating and scintillating and I (usually) take something of value from each. Always thought-provoking and very welcomed by this reader.

Best,

Mike

Vernon did a single cup routine that some mistakenly took for a chopped cup routine.
It did use rolled up Dollar bills and I believe I discussed it at length with John Carney in the 90's but The routine is discussed by Bob White on his DVD.

Unfortunately I do not have the book.

What finale did Vernon come out with? The final loads surprise - what are they? Bigger bundle of dollar bills? Lemon? Balls?

Just updated the site with the list of cup makers.

http://magicaroundtheworld.com/info/cbm/......ers.html

I think it would be better if the website URLs is published next to the name of each maker. Unfortunately I do not have all the links. Need your help now. May I have the website URLs of those cup makers? Thanks!

Hello James:

You list me as having a two cup routine. I don't. I have a chop cup routine that I do with either the leather cup or the Little Don Alan cup. But not both at the same time.

If you look into (I think) Stars of Magic, Dai Vernon is explaining an impromptu routine with three paper covered glasses and crumpled dollar bills.
