So I just got back from my trip down the Washington and Oregon coast.
Spent three days in Seattle trading secrets with some street magicians and visiting my usual haunts. Picked up a zombie ball at the Pike Street Magic place. Visited Ye Olde Curiousity Shoppe to see my old friend the 'feejee mermaid.' Portland was a wash. I did pick up a Downs book at Powell's, but other than that it was a lot of hippies with no money and rich people that were too good to drop a coin. On the way back though I discovered this little magic shoppe in a tiny mall. It turns out it is a fantastic dingey little secret. The owner is friends with Banacheck and CA, and Jeff McBride and David Stone both gave clinics there last month. Banacheck will be doing one next month. The proprietor can also do a 40' card boomerang. Stayed in Olympia the final night. Lot of trees.

Hey Critter, I live in Eugene Oregon. Sorry to hear that our state was not a heck of a lot of fun for you. Your right, we do have hippies a plenty around here, and not much in the way of magic shops. The one we had here in town had to close it's doors a few months back. Now the closest one for me is in Albany, which is about an hour away. I hope your finger heals quickly.
Take care, Bob. |
