Also if you have an Ace in the lateral palm you can make it appear that you have cut to that card.

The advantage of an actual Hi/Lo cutting pack being that you hand the entire deck to the dupe and he can shuffle, shuffle, cut, shuffle as much as he likes, and he's still going to cut the Lo card.

You never have to touch the deck.

Yes and Doc would be the one to know how best to switch in such a deck in the first place I guess.

Yes and go to Doc for mentoring. He will tell you all of the mysteries that make the world go round, like gravity, why is the sky blue, and why all the little furry things under the bed only come out at night.
