With internet available everywhere its extremely easy to find an effect. I have seen students google a trick I showed them.If you believe that people who are not magicians don't search or see youtube magic video's then stay that way, you'll be happier.

This effect is bugging me, no clue on how it works. It looks crazy and my head is spinning with ideas on this. Reveal a word that your spectator is just thinking?
When can I get it;) Mike

I could almost think that you really, honestly not only believe what you are saying, but that you have actual proof. I think it is in your bottom desk drawer right next to your Big Foot proof file. OK, let's take this a piece at the time. You are obviously not an Ellusionist fanboy, but even the marginally rational person could not follow your logic on this. Are you trying to intimate that the only site, out of thousands, from which the young magician buys magic, and then creates a crap tutorial...is Ellusionist? You are kidding, right? Are you missing the 99.99% of crappy tutuorials and exposure videos that deal with products that Ellusionist has never sold? Quote:
So if you filmed yourself doing anything E put out, and put it on youtube, you'd have a million kids asking you to ****ing trade you like the tricks are Pokemon cards. Not to mention all the others who will comment and be like "ok this is how he does it" See the above. Quote:
Ellusionist is to magic as Wal-Mart is to small business. [/quote] What? When you come up with statements like that, are you sitting there with a plastic bag over your head, full of paint fumes? How would you justify and explain that remark? What small magic businesses has Ellusionist run out of business? I would venture that most small, internet, magic businesses fail because they do not have the ability to advertise or to attract decent product. If they did, they would still be around. If you have a problem with Ellusionist doing what they do well, and are doing honestly, then please don't start a business. You are a self-fulfilling prophecy waiting to happen. You know, it is fine to be an E hater. I wish people were not, but there are going to be those people. Some of them are people I really try to respect. The thing is, don't be a klingon variety of E hater, which is what most of you are. You have no personal experience or knowledge and you simply feed off of mis-information passed on by people who want to do damage. It's kinda fun...let's hate on E like everyone else because it is easier than having to formulate our own opinions with reasoning to back it up. Sorry, but I get still get a little frosted by this nonsense. RJ |

RJ,
If you decided to read the whole thread, you would see that I changed my point of view, based on what Jason and Chris said. But honestly, thanks for taking the time out of your day to leave a post filled with nothing but personal attacks. I know it's supposed to make you feel better, but it doesn't hmm? Sorry if your self-esteem is dependent on jumping online and trying to make yourself someone bigger, someone who was control. But did you expect me to take your replies seriously? Again, that post was filled with nothing but personal attacks. You don't know me. If you don't agree with me, fine. But how are you going to say **** like, "are you sitting there with a plastic bag over your head, full of paint fumes?" Grow up. I see you came on here from the E forums, where you're a moderator apparently, and talk ****? Wow, that leaves a great impression on Ellusionist. What a gentleman. Maybe you now have another clue why I'm not the biggest fan of the company. And if you actually took the time to visit that link, you'd see that a random user decided to reveal those products as a text comment. Which had nothing to do with a tag. I don't "think, maybe?", I know. But that's cool, talk **** to me all you want, while you're a grown man hiding behind a computer and an avatar. Glad to know I could help you feel powerful and important for a few minutes. Posted: Sep 8, 2008 10:52pm LOL...the weather is GREAT here Nico. It was a sunny day, and perfect outside. I'm guessing it rained where RJ lives... |

As was mentioned before, Paul Harris contacted Jimmy Kikuchi about Tattoo Joe. Jimmy doesn't have any hard feelings at all, was very happy that we were acknowledging him and totally understands that it was an independent invention. He was flattered that Joe had the same idea as him. And he understands the whole thing and doesn't have any problems with Tattoo Joe.
I don't know Mr. Kikuchi, but it appears he is a very creative and humble performer. And so there you have it, a rare happy ending in the world of magic. I'm happy that everyone is happy. Just thought I would share.... :) Best, Jason Posted: Sep 9, 2008 2:33pm And for those who have been asking about True Astonishments, its looking about 70% possible that it will be released April of 2009. I've been filming something called Pack of Lies for it.....which is a strange cross between psychological test, magic trick and unusual visual anomaly....... And to stray further off topic, for just a second.....I've dug up some notes I have on some of the conversations Paul and I have had about magic as art. They are more lucid then what I had quickly written on the this thread. If anyone is interested in reading those let me know.... Best, Jason |

If this is what Jason and I spoke of very briefly last night, we should all ask nicely for him to share the complete essay. It will truly change the way you look at magic. I know, because I have changed my entire outlook on magic lol. Can't wait to read the entire piece!
Posted: Sep 9, 2008 4:31pm So, I still want to know if Defy The Mind and company were planning on releasing this after seeing it performed by this other magician?

1- Can this be performed in all lighting conditions?
2- Is arm size a variable? I understand maybe large arms can work and thinner arms can work, but is there a minimum? |
